At the X019 event last year, thedevelopers behindKingdom Heartsannounced that the series would finally be making its way over to the Xbox after all of these years. But, when exactly these titles would release wasn’t specified, and no new official information has released since the original announcement.

Yesterday, however, a new listing went up on the Microsoft store that claimedKingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologuewould come to Xbox starting February 18. However, the listing disappeared from the site just as quickly as it went up, making it hard to determine whether or not the release date could be trusted.

The Microsoft store has made mistakes concerningKingdom Heartslistings in the past, too. BeforeKingdom Hearts 3 Re: Mindreleased, a Microsoft store listing suggestedKingdom Hearts 3would be available on PCwhen the DLC arrived, which didn’t turn out to be the case. With that said, the idea thatKingdom Hearts2.8 Final Chapter Prologuewill available mid-February should be taken with a grain of salt, especially since Microsoft took the listing down. Still, the listing could be accurate. It’s possible that an editor over at Microsoft just jumped the gun and posted the listing before Square Enix was ready to announce it.

If this is the case, it’s possible otherKingdom Heartscollections will release to Xboxbefore or with2.8, as it would be weird otherwise.Kingdom Hearts 2.8consists ofKingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep,Kingdom Hearts 3D, andKingdom Hearts X Back Cover, all of which are titles focusing on the end of the Xehanort Saga. If Square Enix wanted to release these titles as a way to catch Xbox fans up with the series, it would make more sense to release something like1.5 + 2.5before2.8. Then again,Kingdom Hearts 3is already available for the Xbox One, so releasing the rest of the collections backward doesn’t really matter at this point.

Time will tell whether or not the2.8Microsoft listing was either a leak or a mistake.Kingdom Heartsannounced that it would release more details on its newDark Roadtitle in mid-February, so, it may also announce any Xbox-ported games around that time as well, especially since the Microsoft listing claimed a mid-February release date for2.8.
