HaemimontGames and THQ Nordic’sJagged Alliance 3is a turn-based combat game in which players take charge of a group of mercenaries as they seek to liberate Gran Chien from a rebel militia known as the Legion. Players will get a choice of mercenaries who they may wish to hire, with each providing a different skill set, specialization, and hiring cost. While the full roster will not be available from the start of the game, players canrecruit more members to their teamand create several squads out of their employed mercenaries.
There are six main classes of mercenary:All Rounder,Mechanic,Doctor,Marksman,Explosive ExpertandLeader. Each is ranked within a different tier fromRecruittoLegendary, though each character can be leveled up and improved as they progress throughout the game.
10Steroid
An experienced mercenary from Warsaw, Poland, Bobby “Steroid” Gontarsky was a former firefighter before turning to his new profession. Steroid’s specialty is that of theMechanic, giving him extra aptitudewhen it comes to repairing equipment.

Available for a relatively cheap fee of $5,100, Steroid’s main strengths are his100 Health(one of only two Mercs with a maxed out stat),97 Strengthand89 Marksmanship. Aside from this, however, he is relatively weak in other areas and will need the support of further teammates.
9Fox
The ever-alluring Cynthia “Fox” Guzzman is a mercenary of the Doctor class with a very strong personality. Her seductive attitude and innuendos reflect her history as a model and a showgirl. It is even said that she made herself available for “private tutoring” with the President’s son.
Costing $5,040 to recruit, Fox is the only other Mercenary (along with Steroid) to have a maxed out stat of100 Dexterity. In addition to this, she also possesses85 Agility, 78 Health and 76 Wisdom. A great pick for the starting group, Fox’s medical abilities are sure to come in handy along with her “Striking Looks” Perk.
8Wolf
Pete “Wolf” Sanderson was formerly a paintball site manager for extremely wealthy clients, beforedeciding to dabble in mercenary work. While his background might not be the most impressive, he has a very versatile skill set and is sure to be of use in a variety of scenarios.

Available for a fee of $10,350, Wolf is a highly skilledAll-Rounderwho can bring balance and stability to a team in just about any situation. Wolf’s strongest attributes are his90 Health,87 Strength,86 Dexterityand83 Agility.His only real weakness is his Leadership skill at 19.
7Fidel
A beret-clad Cuban revolutionarywith an obsession for explosives, Fidel Dahan is an expert at blowing things up. With a short fuse of his own, Fidel takes immense joy in causing death and destruction when it comes to anyone who inconveniences him, even slightly.
Available for $12,740, Fidel is not the cheapest recruit by any means. However, he is well worth the price due to his range of his skills including98 Explosives,88 Healthand86 Marksmanship. In addition to this, Fidel has a variety of deadly perks such asPsycho,Double TossandShock Assault.
6Raider
A former SWAT team leader and experienced combat veteran, Ron “Raider” Higgens made a name for himself when he virtually single-handedly saved a ship from beingoverrun by Somali Pirates. A powerful mercenary in theLeaderclass, Raider is among the best of the best in his field.
Available for $13,270, Raider will provide a high skill level in almost all areas across the board. It is worth highlighting his91 Leadershipability,84 Marksmanship,80 Strengthand80 Health. He also possesses theNegotiatorperk, which will reduce the cost of Boat Travel.
5Vicki
Victoria “Vicki” Waters is Jamaican helicopter mechanic who also dabbles in mercenary work. One of the highest ratedMechanicsin the game, Vicki is sure to be an asset to any team and provides a good overall balance of skills across all areas.

Recruitable for $16,740, Vicki is equally adept in combat as in other areas and boasts a very strong skill set across many attributes. Her95 Mechanical,85 Wisdomand85 Marksmanshipare particular highlights, with her only real weakness being 18 Medical.
4Ivan
A former Major in the Red Army, Ivan Dolvich is one of themost combat effective unitsplayers can employ inJagged Alliance 3. It is said that his legendary feats drew the attention of Hollywood film producers who wished to make a film about him, but Ivan’s insistence on playing the starring role and using live ammunition quickly scuppered the project.
Costing $19,530, Ivan possesses a variety of extremely strong skills and perks. His95 Dexterity,94 Health,92 Marksmanshipand91 Agilitymake him an extremely deadly combatant, while his “You See, Igor” Perk will allow him to regain 3 AP after every kill.
3Magic
A thoroughly professional mercenary, Earl “Magic” Walker has won multiple Worldwide Mercenary Awards including “Best Dressed” and “Fastest Fingers.” A top tier infiltrator, Magic’s specialty is as aMechanic, but his broad range of skills mean he is more than capable of fulfilling any task set for him.
Magiccan only be bought with solid Gold, but in exchange, this legendary mercenary will provide99 Agility,98 Dexterity,95 Health,94 Marksmanship,92 Strengthand91 Mechanical. In addition to this, he also has the “Second Story Man” Perk which provides 50% Critical Hit Chance when attacking from higher ground.
2Reaper
Carl “Reaper” Sheppards is a cold-blooded killing machine witha reputation for efficiency and ruthlessness. Primarily a hitman who travels the globe eliminating terrorists for high-paying clients, Reaper is also not adverse to well-paid mercenary work.

Like Magic, Reaper can only be bought with Gold, but with it, the elite Marksman will bring a range of strong skills including97 Marksmanship,92 Agilityand92 Dexterity. Reaper’s “Grim Fate” Perk will allow him to score a guaranteed Critical Hit with a ranged attack, causing Panic to any nearby enemies.
1Gus
Former US Military veteran Gus Tarballs is a legendary mercenary with a starting level of 8 - the highest available in the game. Having lost a leg in combat, Gus’s best days are perhaps behind him, and efforts to keep him engaged with A.I.M have resulted in a loss of contact.
Players will have to coax Gus out of retirement as the story progresses in order to hire him, but when they do, he possesses the most complete and high-ranking skill set in the game. With skills such as95 Marksmanship,94 Wisdom,85 Leadershipand84 Dexterity, there is not a single attribute Gus has which ranks below 70.
