According to their numbers, players need 243.5 million XP to reach level 85 inDiablo 4, with 487 million total XP required to hit level 100. This puts into perspective just how serious theDiablo 4grindcan be, and just how much time the people who have already hit level 100 have invested in the game.

It also makes it even more glaringly obvious how painful it must be for players who have lost theirDiablo 4Hardcore characters.Diablo 4’s Hardcore mode adds permadeathto the mix, meaning if a character dies, they’re gone forever. Considering the time investment that’s required to hit max level inDiablo 4, this can be an absolutely tragic moment for anyone who unlucky enough to lose their character.

Some unfortunateDiablo 4players have lost their high level Hardcore characters for reasons outside their control.Diablo 4Hardcore characters have died in loading screensand from disconnects, which makes the situation that much more devastating.
