Dungeonborne - Extraction Options

How Extraction Works In Dungeonborne

Your primary objective inDungeonborneis to explore the dungeon for valuable loot, locate an escape portal within the dungeon, and successfully escape your haul. These escape portals start appearing in random locations throughout the dungeonafter the match progresses a fair bit.

The game also notifies you about these portals with a text log on the right-hand side of your screen. This information provides you with an overview of new portals appearances, the total remaining portals that can be accessed, and players who recently used a portal to escape the dungeon. These portals don’t show up on the map, andyou must actively look for them when the log updates.

Dungeonborne - Ritual Scroll & Escape Room

You can identify escape portals by their distinct blue hue andapproaching them brings up the activate prompt. Activating a portal takes about 10 seconds and pings your location to nearby playersunless you have a Ritual Scroll in your possession. Once a portal has been activated, it can be used to safely escape the dungeon. Activated portals can be used by enemy players, so avoid straying too far from an activated portal and missing your escape chance.

In addition to portals, you can also find dedicated escape rooms that aremarked on your map by blue icons. These portal rooms allow you to escape the dungeon without needing to activate a portal. However, it’s important to note that there are only two escape rooms per dungeon, andthey are not reusable. Meaning, if an enemy player has already used an escape room, you cannot use it and have to find a regular escape portal elsewhere in the dungeon.

How To Successfully Extract In Dungeonborne

When you choose to extract in Dungeonborne is largely dependent on your personal objectives, whether you want to stick around throughout the length of the match, farm for valuable loot and escape, or take on the dungeon’s challenging bosses for even better loot.

If you decide to explore the dungeon for the entire length of the match, you’re better off using one of the regular portals in the outer regions of the dungeon. Most surviving players would usually aim for the escape rooms when the match is about to end, and you wouldn’t want to get caught in a fight while trying to escape.

On the other hand, if you want to escape the dungeon early, you’ll need to be wary of giving away your position to enemy players who could try hunting you down. For situations like these, you must prioritize finding a Ritual Scroll tomask your position when activating a portal. These scrolls are marked on your map with light blue icons and usually guarded by enemies. Similar to escape rooms, Ritual Scrolls are also found in limited numbers, although they are more abundant. Therefore, it’s always a good idea to look out for these scrolls to make your extraction safer.
