Fans ofPokemon GOare getting plenty of content to keep them happily playing over the holidays. ACommunity Day Extravaganza in Decemberwill make for some fun times, while three new Swords of Justice Legendary Pokemon can be fought and captured in Raid Battles.
Pokemon GOplayers who want to bolster the ranks of their collection with Legendaries shouldn’t miss out on capturing Virizion. A mixed Grass and Fighting type Pokemon, Virizion is a versatile friend to have.

However, now thatplayers can increase their inventory space, it certainly doesn’t hurt to have an extra legendary Pokemon stored. With new Pokemon added to the game regularly, versatile options for Raids can be very helpful.
WhileTerrakion is the best of the three new Legendaries, Virizion is still a worthy choice to have collected. Virizion is a Grass- and Fighting-Type Pokemon with an Attack of 192, Defebse of 229, and Stamina of 209. Virizion is extremely weak to Flying-Type attacks, taking a damage modifier of 256 percent on any Flying-Type hit. Other weaknesses include Fair, Psychic, Ice, Fire, and Poison attacks. However, Virizion is resistant to Rock, Water, Grass, Electric, Ground, and Dark. Staying away from those types of attacks is a must for any encounter with this Pokemon.
The best possible counter for Virizion is Moltres. Moltres has a Wing Attack and Sky Attack that can deal big damage to Virizion. Any other Pokemon with strong Flying-Type attacks will do the trick, but if anyone wants to take down Virizion in record time, Moltres is the way to go.
Mewtwo is another strong option, and is also effective against Terrakion. Other good choices to go against Virizion are Honchkrow, Rayquaza, Unfezant, Ho-oH, Zapdos, Togekiss, Staraptor, Lugia, Yanmega, Fearow, Chandelure, Alakazam, or Espeon. Even without any of these most effective choices, any decent Flying-Type Pokemon is a safe bet.
This weakness makes Virizion very easy to defeat and collect. Unfortunately, this also means that Virizion is a little lackluster as a Legendary Pokemon. It won’t hurt to have one around, but hopefully in the future, Legendary Pokemon from Battle Raids will be a little bit more challenging and impressive.
