However, the brevity of the Netflix show has left its viewers with quite a few unanswered questions. Perhaps the biggest one has to do with how old the characters are inCyberpunk: Edgerunners, especially since many of them are not officially confirmed. Some of these characters do survive past the events of the anime, which means they likely survive to see the story of theCyberpunk 2077game.

David Martinez
David Martinez is the series' protagonist, initially seen attending the distinguished Arasaka Academy before leaving to join Maine’s crew. The official wiki states that David is 17 at the start of the show, though after the jump in time, he appears much older. Some fans have wonderedhow long the time skip is inCyberpunk: Edgerunnerssince it’s never said in the show.
In a comment on a Reddit post,Edgerunners' executive producer and showrunner Rafal Jaki wrote that David was 18 in later episodes. Based on this information, about a year passes during the time skip in episode seven. This might be surprising to some since David is equipped with many more cybernetic enhancements since the last time the audience saw him.
Lucyna Kushinada
Lucyna Kushinada, better known as Lucy, is one of the mostpopular characters inCyberpunk: Edgerunners.She eventually becomes David’s girlfriend after meeting him on the train in episode two. The netrunner was confirmed to be around 20 years old in the same Reddit thread that David’s age was confirmed, though an exact number is never given.
Rebecca
Rebecca is one of the most interesting characters in the show as she has an incredibly energetic and trigger-happy personality. Her young appearance has thrown some fans off, though she is seen drinking at a bar in one episode. According to Rafal Jaki, she is also around 20 years old. Due to her popularity, some have made the case thatRebecca should get her own standalone gamefromCyberpunk 2077, so they could learn more about her and her brother Pilar’s backstory.
Maine
Maine is the hardened edgerunner who adopts both David and Lucy into his crew and based on his demeanor he appears to be quite a bit older than the two. The mercenary unfortunately meets his end after succumbing to cyberpsychosis, though not before teaching David his values and way of life. Maine is said to actually be in his late 30s, just like Dorio.
To some fans' disappointment, the showrunners have stated that the story from the anime was a standalone work. This was in response to thoseasking for aCyberpunk: Edgerunnersseason two, though this doesn’t mean there aren’t more stories to tell centered around the world ofCyberpunk 2077. With any luck, CD Projekt Red will reveal more concrete details about its plans in the coming months.
