A player of Warner Bros. Interactive’sHogwarts Legacyhas recently discovered something interesting in the game that reminds the fanbase of Marvel’s iconic villain Thanos. With many interesting objects andplaces to discover inHogwarts Legacy, it is not surprising for one or two items to remind players of other popular video games, TV series, and film franchises.
Despite all the challenges beforeHogwarts Legacy’s launch in February 2023, the game experienced massive success in terms of concurrent player count and sales milestones after its release. The development team has also kept its focus on the community’s feedback, delivering quality-of-life fixes and updates consistently. Now that gameplay seems to be more stable, many players are probably thoroughly enjoying everythingHogwarts Legacyhas to offer, including interesting in-game discoveries that they can share with their fellow fans.

On Reddit, user K__Jens shared a photo of a display cabinet that they found in one of theareas inside theHogwarts Legacycastle. Within the cabinet, a large bejeweled shell full of colored gems is propped up for the game’s student body to look at. In the Redditor’s caption of the post, they mentioned Marvel’s supervillain Thanos, stating it’s what the character’s take on aMarioKartshell would look like. Fellow fans will probably see the connection easily, given that the bejeweled shell has similarly colored gems to those found in Thanos’s Infinity Gauntlet while also resembling the Koopa Shells used inMario Kart.
Fans on the Reddit thread were quick to jump to many theories and suggestions about Thanos,Mario Kart, andHogwarts Legacy. One called the item the “Infinity Shell” which, when used, will “snap” half of the players out of existence during aMario Kartrace. Others pointed out theHogwarts Legacystory and lorebehind the bejeweled shell in the display cabinet, explaining that the Jewel-Encrusted Tortoise Shell was originally mistaken as a Fire Crab shell but was apparently a creation by a mad wizard. This information can be found by collecting the Field Guide page found by the shell itself.
Though the connection betweenHogwarts Legacy, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, andMario Kartis not official despite what many of the game’s community may have hoped, there is no doubt that the fans enjoyed speculating about the bejeweled shell. With so much to explore within the castle, grounds, and areas surroundingHogwarts Castle inHogwarts Legacy, hopefully more players will share their exciting discoveries in the future.
