Summary
A clip ofStarfieldhas shown the game producing a comical bug that led an unfortunate player to be abandoned by their own spaceship. Bethesda games are known for their quirks, often leading to some meme-worthy moments, and this one clip shows thatStarfieldis definitely one of them.
Even during its early-access period,Starfieldis already a big hit among players, particularly on PC where it has amassed record-breaking concurrent players. The game is set to be released for everyone on September 6, and it’s very likely for the number of players to rise even further. With that many people playing such a highly interactive game, bugs and glitches are certain to be found inStarfield.

One perfect example comes from Reddit user evaTK3, who uploaded a video of them being abandoned by their ship inStarfield. The footage starts with the playermodifying theirStarfieldship, but just after they finished talking to the NPC and proceeded to check out the result, the ship immediately took off on its own. The amusement continues as the player decided to only stand there and watch their ship fly straight off into space by itself.
“Shouldn’t have installed such an advanced A.I. module,” commented another user jokingly. Whilebuilding their ship inStarfield, players can pretty much do what they want and attach any kinds of module they can afford. However, players may need to check for error messages, for example, when there are more than one of a specific item being installed. In this instance, though, the player didn’t seem to make any extreme modifications other than adding a cargo hold, and it just showsStarfieldinheriting the good old Bethesda jank.
Objects flying away when they’re not supposed to are pretty common in Bethesda games. In the past, the objects didn’t have to be something that was meant to fly at all, such as a horse flying off a small bridge inSkyrim, or another one that suddenly had the ability to levitate while there were dragons nearby.Starfieldmay be Bethesda’s least buggiest game, but that won’t stop it from occasionally producing amusing bugs.
Thankfully,Starfieldcan be modded very easilyjust like any other Bethesda games. As such, players can expect community-made fixes that can help alleviate some of the bugs inStarfield. If previous Bethesda games have taught players anything, it’s that the games will get better over time with the help from the community.
Starfieldis available now during early access and officially launches September 6 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
