Hasbroreveals a set of new figures for its Star Wars Vintage Collection, including Darth Revan, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Pre Viszla, a collection of Imperial Officers, and a figure of Chewbacca for Life Day. Each figure is unique and represents some powerful iconography for the franchise, though becauseRevan is such a popularStar Warscharacter, one could argue he may be the most appealing of them all.
For the uninitiated,Hasbro’s Vintage Collection began in earnest around 2010 with ties to the original Kenner toy series that ran from 1978 to 1984. Before the Vintage Collection was a thing, there were figures marked in this style (Original Trilogy Collection in 2004 and Saga Collection in 2006), but the collection as a whole has provided a home to stylized figures such as Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber construction based on aReturn of the Jedideleted scene, Darth Malgus from the Expanded Universe, and many, many more. The Collection did endure a hiatus for a few years, coming back in full around 2018 and growing since.

The new Hasbro releases for this Collection are all iconic names, to some degree, within theStar Warsfranchise. Darth Revan’s might throughoutStar Warshistory is uncontested, while his initial role inKOTOR 1saw him become as prominent as Luke or Darth Vader. Grand Admiral Thrawn needs no real introduction, as the Chiss figure is as important to the Empire inStar Wars Legendswith numerous books written about him. With Disney’s canonization, Thrawn returned with a new book trilogy, appeared inStar Wars Rebels(which is what this figure is based on), and is set to appear inDisney’sAhsokaseries, played by Lars Mikkelsen.
The new figures added to this collection also include Pre Visla, governor of Madalore’s moon Concordia during the Clone Wars and leader of Death Watch, and the Imperial Officers Admiral Piett and General Motti, among others. Meanwhile, Chewbacca is no stranger to the world ofStar Warsand collectible figures, but what makes this one stand out is his Life Day attire. Some fans will know thatLife Day is a Wookiee holiday dedicated to family, joy, and harmony.
