The Warner Bros-Discovery merger is complete and has led to the abrupt cancellation of some of the studio’s most highly anticipated projects. However, the developingGreen Lanternseries appears to be safe as of now.

The recent victim of theaxe from the studio was theBatgirlfilm, which was set to star Leslie Grace in the titular role and Michael Keaton as Batman. However, the studio revealed that the film will no longer be released to the public, and now DCEU fans everywhere are on edge, wondering if their favourite show or film franchise could be next on the chopping block.

It was revealed that aGreen Lanternseries is estimated to be released for streaming sometime during 2024, but fans began to worry that the series would never see the light of day. However, according to a report from TVLine, a spokesperson over at HBO Max assured fans that theGreen Lanternseries is “very much alive.” The project, while still in development, is set to have Greg Berlanti as the executive producer and co-writer. There have also been past reports about the cast, withAmerican Horror StorystarFinn Wittrock expected to portray the first Green Lantern, known as Guy Gardner. The show hasn’t received many concrete details regarding its release, although the news that theGreen Lanternseries will be making its way to the DCEU has eased the nerves of many fans who are anticipating the character’s story coming to life.

While theGreen Lanternis safe as of now, it was just revealed that Kevin Smith’sStrange Adventures has fallen victim to the studios' cancellation spree. It has also been revealed that the CW Arrowverse will be laid to rest in 2023 whenThe Flashairs its final episodes. These abrupt cancellations have been a catalyst for both sadness and anger among fans, who are slowly but surely beginning to lose faith in the plans that the studio has set in motion for the future.
