Frequent character rumors inGenshin Impactcreate a lot of hype for characters who are still in development. Over the last couple of updates, miHoYo introduced an interesting pattern of adding a new character alongside two banner re-runs in a single update.
Developer miHoYo has already confirmed a brand-newGenshin Impactcharacter named Kamisato Ayato for 2.6, even before Yae Miko and update 2.5 arrived on the live servers. He will apparently be a new five-star roster addition considering that he’s the only announced character.

An interesting leak on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit shows a video featuring Kamisato Ayato alongside his sister Ayaka. In the video, the player groups a group of Hilichurls before unleashing his Elemental Burst which does AoE Hydro damage. After Ayato applies the wet effect, Ayaka activates her Elemental Burst summoning a snowstorm whichtriggers the Freeze elemental reaction. This combo will be extremely effective against groups of enemies that occasionally tend to avoid combat.
Many players were expecting a great synergy between these two. Even though most players thought that it was his sister Ayaka who was pulling the strings for the clan, recent story quests have revealed that it’s actually Ayato who assumes the leadership role.Ayaka has a unique kitthat revolves around a consistent application of the Cryo element through her kit. Her rotation is different from mostGenshin Impactcharacters in that she needs to weave in sprinting in order to infuse her normal attacks with her element. This means that she will greatly benefit from being with a Hydro character like Ayato who allows her to constantly trigger Freeze.
Kamisato Ayato is one of the most anticipated characters in the game. When his voice was teased in an official video, fans went wild with the theory that his arrival might be sooner than expected.PreviousGenshin Impactleakshave revealed that his Elemental skill is named Shuumatsu Art, and it allows Ayato to dash sideways while casting forward an empty shell of himself that taunts enemies.
He was originally rumored to be released alongside another four-star character - Shikanoin Heizou. Unlike Ayato, there is not much information about Heizou other than that he’s a detective. Shikanoin Heizou is a popular Inazuma detective who works for the Tenryu Commission. His unique way of investigating often gives the impression that he puts his own priorities over duties, which makes him disliked by his superiors such as thewell-known character Kojou Sara.
Genshin Impactis available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
