Fontaine is coming toGenshin Impactas Version 3.7 offers players an official look into the nation’s Visions through the newly introduced character of Charlotte. Thoughfan concepts of Visions fromGenshin Impacthave always been a popular choice to highlight the community’s creative side, HoYoverse’s take has always been rather minimalistic, as opposed to elaborate. Each Vision aesthetically corresponds to a nation (and supposedly the nation’s deity which granted the Vision holder elemental power). For example, despite hailing from Mondstadt, Thoma bears a Pyro Vision of Inazuma, as he received the blessing when he chose to be a fixer for the Yashiro Commission.

Though Charlotte isn’t a playable character yet, she is the first Vision holder hailing from Fontaine thatGenshin Impactplayers have come across. A news reporter for The Steambird, Charlotte is poised to bring another unique aspect to the table once she joins the party roster: she isGenshin Impact’s first Cryo Catalyst character. WithVersion 3.8 ofGenshin Impactallegedly not introducing any new characters, all signs point that Charlotte will launch in Version 4.0 alongside a significant chunk of the Fontaine cast.

The Vision adorns a pouch strapped to Charlotte’s right thigh, signifying her status as both a citizen of Fontaine, and as someone who earned divine favor (that of Focalors or otherwise). Though players expected Fontaine Visions to be adorned in plenty of detail, the final design made from brass evokes a subtle and subdued imagery of waves, industry, and the fleur-de-lis. These elements combine to illustrate the basic concept behindFontaine inGenshin Impact: that of steampunk France surrounded by waterfalls.

Instead of Charlotte,Version 3.7 introduces Kirara toGenshin Impactas the latest addition to its growing list of characters. A Dendro Sword user who specializes in Support, Kirara is also capable of sneaking up on frightful critters such as pigeons – a unique trait previously reserved for Aloy, who was part of a limited collaboration with Guerrilla Games, the developer of theHorizonfranchise. As a 4-star character, Kirara joins the banner rerun for both Yae Miko and Yoimiya, with the latter also receiving her second story quest chapter.

ThoughGenshin Impactleaks have revealed much of the Fontaine cast, as well as the region itself, it won’t take long for players to try it all out firsthand. Version 3.8 ofGenshin Impactwill center around Eula, complete with her long-awaited banner rerun, as well as introduce a new temporary zone for the duration of its flagship event. Most importantly, it will also be the final chapter of Sumeru – with the Archon Focalors and the City of Justice opening its doors to the Traveler sooner rather than later.

Genshin Impactis available now for PC, Mobile, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
