Player Mistakes
Back to All Characters
Arlecchino, also known as the Knave or the Father, is one of the long-anticipated characters joining the roster of playable characters inGenshin Impact. As a new Pyro character focusing onbeing the main DPS of the team, the other characters typically need to be more support-oriented, either to boost Arlecchino’s DPS or to enable certain Elemental Reactions.
Interestingly, while the HP drain and gain mechanic has been prominent in the Fontaine arc, Arlecchino introduces a different mechanic revolving around the Bond of Life. This mechanic, previouslyonly a debuff applied by Fatui Operatives, can now be applied by Arlecchino herself. It boosts her damage and infuses her Normal Attacks with Pyro, and it can only be healed by her own Elemental Burst. As a result, her team compositions won’t typically include healer characters, though some of her best synergizing members still provide healing. Depending on players' preferences, Vaporize, Overloaded, or Mono Pyro team compositions will best suit her playstyle.
Arlecchino + Yelan + Bennett + Zhongli
Team Roles
As with most Pyro characters, Arlecchino greatly benefits from Vaporize reactions and has excellent synergy with strong off-field Hydro Enablers likeYelan. Arlecchino primarily focuses on Normal Attacks at a suitable Pyro application speed. For those without access toYelan, characters like Xingqiuor Furina can still be considered. However, since Arlecchino cannot be healed by other characters, Xingqiu’s minor healing may not be very helpful, though his damage reduction can still be useful. Yelan, on the other hand, has higher damage modifiers than Xingqiu, benefiting the team’s overall damage output.
Furina’s synergy with Arlecchino is also not optimal, asFurinadrains HP from the team, which conflicts with Arlecchino’s Bond of Life mechanic. Nevertheless, pairing Furina with Bennett, who can heal the rest of the party members, can still make it work while having consistent Hydro application. Bennett is one of the best characters to pair with Arlecchino in most team compositions, as he significantly boosts Arlecchino’s ATK, which scales with her damage multipliers. Additionally, Bennett provides Pyro resonance and more energy particles. Players with C6 Bennett can perfectly utilize him with Arlecchino, as she does not have any drawbacks for added Pyro infusion while in Bennett’s Elemental Burst field.
Lastly, Zhongli serves as a good option to mitigate added damage from Arlecchino, although he cannot heal her directly. Zhongli can reduce the resistance of opponents and provide additional buffs to the team with artifact sets like Tenacity of the Millelith. As such, if the field is set up for her by utilizing the other team members' kit before swapping to Arlecchino, she can remain on the field for extended duration of times, and deal significant DMG.
Arlecchino + Yae Miko + Fischl + Chevreuse
For players interested in trying out optimal but different team compositions than the popular Vaporize reactions for Pyro characters, the Overloaded team can be quite fun to experiment with, especially with access toChevreuseat high constellations. While this team composition is more limited, asit can only consist of Pyroand Electro characters, with Chevreuse and Arlecchino occupying the Pyro slots, players have several Electro characters to choose from based on their preferences and availability.
For those seeking strong sub-DPS options that do not take much on-field time with long off-field skill durations,Yae Mikopairs well with characters like Fischl. Alternatively, players can swap either of these characters withRaiden ShogunorBeidou, depending on their preferences. It’s worth noting that if players haveChevreuse at her sixth constellation, the party limitation becomes negligible, as she functions similarly toKaedehara Kazuhafor Pyro or Electro elements specifically. This allows for another reaction to be enabled instead of Overloaded, opening up more flexibility in team composition.
Arlecchino + Xiangling + Bennett + Kazuha
While not as high in DPS output as reaction-based team compositions for Arlecchino, a mono-Pyro setup with a well-invested Xiangling or Kazuha can be quite competitive. This is because, Arlecchino doesn’t require Elemental Mastery orspecific elemental reactions to boost her damage, as her self-buffs are related to her normal attacks and Pyro damage.
In this team composition, Bennett serves as the primary support for Arlecchino, for same reasons to his utility in the Vaporize team. Kazuha complements this setup by further enhancing Pyro damage and reducing enemy Elemental Resistance with the Viridescent Venerer artifact set, ensuring consistent Pyro applications on enemies. For the last slot, Xiangling excels as a sub-DPS option, leveraging her high DPS potential with her Elemental Burst. Bennett’s role as a battery character also helps mitigate Xiangling’s energy requirements, ensuring consistent Burst uptime.
Players without access to Kazuha can substitute him with Sucrose, especially against fewer weak monsters. This allows Arlecchino to fit into a more F2P-oriented team composition, with all other characters being 4-star characters easily obtained, some of which are even obtainable without relying on Gacha.
