During the course of the game, players find themselves visiting an Applebee’s in space, but many are reporting that once inside, they can’t leave. Rebooting the game or reloading the most recent save doesn’t seem to be a solution. To make matters worse, some players have reported glitches causing them to pop up in the Applebee’s when they shouldn’t have, and are then finding themselves trapped.
At this point in time, the only known solution for this problem is to completely restart the game from the beginning.High on Lifeisn’t a particularly long title, with an expected 100% completion playtime coming in around 20-25 hours and main quest completion coming in at just about ten. Even so, reaching this point in the game only to have one’s progress completely wiped out due to a glitch isn’t going to win any favor with the fans. While this problem isn’t impacting all players, it’s unfortunately an issue that’s been going on for some time now and has yet to be addressed by developer Squanch Games. Reports of this issue go back to at least December 17, when aHigh on Lifeupdatereleased but didn’t address the problem. It’s likely that the developer will eventually release a patch to resolve this problem, and it may be that the only reason it hasn’t already is due to the team taking a break during the holidays. Players encountering this bug who are eager to finish the game will have to restart, but for those who are willing to wait, putting the game aside and holding out for a new patch may be the best course of action.
