Although it has its comical moments,Fallout 4is quite a serious game, but that doesn’t mean people can’t have fun with it, as a video shows what the post-apocalyptic game might be like if Shrek were inserted into The Commonwealth. WhileNew Vegasis generally considered the superiorFalloutentry, the 2015 installment in the long-running series was still highly praised upon release, introducing building mechanics to the franchise and a fully voiced main protagonist.
WithBethesda confirmingFallout 5in June 2022, there will be many people anticipating the follow-up, especially given the disappointment initially surroundingFallout 76. However, seeing as the next entry is not due to come out until afterThe Elder Scrolls 6is released and no one has any idea when that will be, it’s almost certainly going to be a good few years before fans get to play a newFalloutgame. However, there are still enough installments to keep players busy for a while, and while there are also mods, some are finding other ways to entertain themselves in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

As spotted by PC Gamer, YouTuber eli_handle_b․wav has uploaded a video that shows Shrek milling about inFallout 4. The clip inserts some of the green ogre’s well-known lines from the firstShrekfilm in various contexts. For example, when Preston Garvey tells the player that another settlement needs help, something many fans of the game have heard time and time again, Shrek retorts with, “Quest? I’m already on a quest!” There’s also a moment in which he ponders whether someone is compensating for something when looking up at the Prydwen, the mobile command ship used by the Brotherhood of Steel.
It’s a pretty funny video overall, especially given how well the ogre has been almost seamlessly placed into the game. This is also not the first time something like this has occurred. A while back, someone imagined how amashup betweenSkyrimand the Irish sitcomFather Tedwould play out. Again, the results are quite amusing.
It seems that, after nearly eight years, fans are still finding new ways to keep the Bethesda action RPG in the limelight. As mentioned above, there areplenty ofFallout 4modsthat can help keep things fresh. Of course, what many will be eagerly awaiting is the next game, but until that launches, there are at least a lot of ways to have fun outside the vanillaFalloutexperience.
Fallout 4is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in development.
