Different games including creative building mechanics often lead to some impressive output from fans. Mojang’sMinecraft, Media Molecule’sDreams, or Nintendo’sAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsare good examples, and Iron Gate’s indie hitValheimhas players recreatingSkyrimbuildingsamong a number of projects.Fortnitecreative mode also spawns a handful of interesting builds, but one fan’s recent take on Croft Manor from Crystal Dynamics’Tomb Raiderreboot series stands out.
With the start ofFortniteSeason 6 in March, Epic Games continued its trend of adding huge video game, movie, and television stars into the battle royale with Lara Croft - a survivalist befitting the season’s “Primal” theme and new weapon crafting mechanics. An official recreation ofCroft Manor was added toFortnitecreative modelater that month, but Twitter user zweihndr was apparently still inspired to make their own.

The project, posted to Twitter on April 2, began as part of the Season 6 Build Challenge hosted by YouTuber and streamer Mustard Plays. He primarily covers builds inFortnitecreative mode, and on March 18 uploaded a video announcing his Season 6 event lasting through April 19. Fans can build anything they want with inspiration from the season’s storyline and Primal theming, its original characters like Agent Jones and Tarana, or crossovers likeTomb RaiderandTeen Titans -based on Raven coming toFortnite. This fan-made version of Croft Manor should no doubt be one of the highlights.
While Play Mustard’s announcement video shows he also recreated Croft Manor in the past, he applauds zweihndr’s work in a quote tweet saying, “There’s always some new talent that just blows me away!” While zweihndr says they built this over the span of a week in the comments, others using the hashtag “s6buildchallenge” on Twitter haveFortnitecreative mode builds based onTeen Titans' Titans Tower, primeval villages, and more.
It’s impressive to see just how muchFortniteplayers are able to accomplish using its building tools if this Croft Manor is any indication, but of course most players will jump on to compete in battle royale matches. Season 6 released plenty of new content for fans, and that continues asFortniteadded a Recycler guninto its arsenal with the recent Version 16.11 patch.
Between an ever-evolving gameplay loop and unique additions to creative mode,Fortnitewill likely keep its status as one of the most popular games ever made. On top of players like zweihndr contributing things like Croft Manor or an in-progress cathedral advertised on Twitter today,Epic Games has also released creative maps likeHalo’s Blood Gulch, and should continue to do so into the foreseeable future.
Fortniteis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
