Fortniteand Bandcamp have just announced an unexpected collaboration. WhenFortnitefirst appeared, it only had Battle Pass skins and a few Item Shop skins that would rotate quite frequently. As the game and the members in its community grew, more skins would be designed for it to diversify those that players would see every day; consequently, the Item Shop’s size would also significantly increase over time.
As the years went by, the uproar and popularity surroundingFortniteincreased to the point that nearly everyone knew about the game’s existence - this made other types of collaborations possible. Eventually,Fortniteteamed up with artists, brands, and franchises to create skins and much more. Fromanime skin collabsto Ariana Grande in-game concerts, nearly everything that could be thought of was making its way toFortnite. The game even made it possible for characters from different consoles to meet and battle; for example,Halo’s Master Chief andGod of War’s Kratos.

At this point, fans aren’t even surprised most of the time that they hear that a new collab is coming toFortnite. Oddly enough though, that actually wasn’t the case this time around when it was announced thatBandcamp - an online indie music store acquired recently by Epic Games- would be put in the game. Now, just like what happened when the Eminem event took place last Summer, Bandcamp is taking over one ofFortnite’s in-game radio stations.
Fortnitehas teamed up with music artists many times; therecent The Kid LAROIFortniteconcertwas a success and there have been other huge music events that took the community by storm. Bandcamp is greatly used to share independent lesser-known artists and expose their music to the world, and even though these songs being played on the radio while gamers drive their in-game cars during an intense battle royale might sound strange at first, it’s a great way to spread these tracks worldwide - it can be a huge opportunity for the bands.
Players curious about the new tracks added to the game can tune intoFortnite’s Radio Underground at any time by simply turning on the radio after getting into a vehicle in-game. This collaboration could be something permanent given Epic Game’s acquisition of Bandcamp, which if true, could mean the addition of even more artists in the future - perhapsonceFortnite’s Chapter 4 Season 2 starts.
Fortniteis available for mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
