The way to obtain this important resource may not be immediately obvious, though, and some fans may be stuck trying to establish the buildings that require it. Farthest Frontier: How to Get Iron
Players that are trying to obtain Iron inFarthest Frontiershould begin by locating an Iron Ore Deposit. These deposits are marked with an icon that depicts a chunk of the silver material, and it is recommended that fans ofcity building gamesconfirm that there are some nearby when starting a game. Notably, Iron Deposits frequently appear near mountains, and fans may need to use the Flatten Terrain function on them before moving onto the next step.

Upon locating an Iron Ore Deposit, players must use an Iron Mine to extract the resource. This building can be constructed on a suitable deposit once a Town Center has been upgraded to Tier 2 and a Wagon Shop has been built, and it requires Wood Planks. Notably, the buildings that act as prerequisites to establishing an Iron Mine are also needed in order to make aClay Pit inFarthest Frontier, giving players some additional incentive to get them up and running.
After a player has started collecting Iron Ore, they must then set their sights on upgrading their Town Center to Tier 3. This is a fairly significant undertaking, with numerous prerequisites and a large cost, and it may takesurvival gamefans a while to complete the upgrade. Once a player does finally get their Town Center to Tier 3, they will find that they can construct a Foundry from the Resources tab of the Buildings section, and indeed that structure is what is used to convert Iron Ore into Iron.

Players are thus advised to construct a Trading Post sooner rather than later and check for Heavy Tools every time that the Trader is visiting.
