The year 2002 was special for bothPokemonfans and Disney fans. For gamers, 2002 marked the release ofPokemon RubyandSapphire, the start of the franchise’s third generation. For the fans of all things Disney, 2002 saw the release ofLilo and Stitch, an iconic film that many fans adored. Now, 20 years later, a fan of bothPokemonandLilo and Stitchhas brought the two together in rather detailed fan art.
Lilo and Stitchwas a movie about how the titular characters met. For Lilo, all she wanted was to adopt a strange blue dog that could talk from the pound. However, this “blue dog” was actually an experimental alien creation who had fled from the Galactic Federation’s custody. In the movie’s sequel and following TV series,Lilo and Stitchbecame a franchise dedicated to Stitch’s “cousins,” the other 625 experiments made before him. While theDisney film featureda story that was a hit with viewers, it was also fondly remembered for using the unique art style of one of its directors, Chris Sanders.

Once fans get to see the art for themselves, it’s very clear why fans of both the film andthePokemongamesare fawning over Troytheartboy’s work. It’s also not very hard for players to figure out which of the experiments have inspired which designs, such as Vaporeon and Sylveon looking rather reminiscent of Stitch and Angel in particular.
Some fans have asked if the artist plans to use the artwork for anything, and Troytheartboy has revealed that they plan to sell stickers featuring the crossover designs.
