AnElden Ringplayer attempts to cheese their way through one of the toughest bosses in the game, the Draconic Tree Sentinel, but it immediately backfires. The Draconic Tree Sentinel is feared inElden Ring, and it is easy to see why. With an impressive array of attacks and a hefty health pool, it is a formidable opponent. Some find the easiest way to defeat it is simply by avoiding the head-on confrontation and striking from a distance.

The Draconic Tree Sentinel is found in two of the game’s most popular locations. The first one is outside the Capital Outskirts. Defeating this Draconic Tree Sentinel will grant the player access to Lyndell, the Royal Capital. The second one is found guarding the door to the Maliketh boss arena. These enemies are both overworld bosses, meaning that they do not reappear after being defeated. There are two summons available for the Draconic Tree Sentinel located in Crumbling Farum Azula. Players cansummon Millicent if they have progressed her quest, but if not the Great Horned Tragoth is available without any prerequisites. The boss is so difficult, however, that it might not be enough to defeat them with the help of these characters.

In a video posted to Reddit, anElden Ringplayer attempted to forgo a head-on confrontation with the terrifying enemy. The user, who is named drunken_corpse666, found a viewing spot far above the Draconic Tree Sentinel on the bridge and set up their aim with the Jar Cannon. After taking and landing a shot at the Draconic Tree Sentinel, the enemy took notice and focused its attention on the player in the distance. As drunken_corpse666 adjusted for a better angle, the enemy quickly retaliated with its devastating ranged lightning strike. This attack locks on a player within range and strikes them with lightning from above, knocking them back. Unfortunately, for thisElden Ringplayer, their character was just close enough to the ledge to fall to their death after being hit by the attack.
