Elden Ring, on the surface and below, is a massive game that urges its players to explore its colossal environments while taking on intimidating bosses. Indeed, while the Lands Between provide countless hours of content to keep its fans busy grinding and in search of its secrets, many devote their time to racing through the game as quickly as possible, leading some to find glitches and exploits.

Mobility exploits have already been found inElden Ring, supplying speedrunners with potential strategies to improve upon their times. The scale of the game continues to inspire players to find tricks that lay unfound in the Lands Between. In the latest glitch find from a fan ofElden Ring, however, players can now take flight with their trusty steed Torrent.

A new glitch inElden Ringhas been discovered that allows the player to take flight with their horse after allowing the mount to fall to its death. Shown in a clip by YouTube channel EZScape Clips & VODs, the short guide reveals that letting Torrent fall into a death plain while spamming the dismount button and riding uphill enables the glitch. With the first attempt to resummon Torrent by Flask of Crimson Tears not doing anything, on the second attempt Tarnished’s will be able to take to the skies.

While the strategy has been declared difficult to pull off in the video, which could be why it has only just been found, it offers a new potential strategy for theElden Ringspeedrunning communitythat is devoted to pushing the record down. There are only two possible locations where this glitch has been found to work as of now due to its trickiness. The easier of the two spots was revealed to be outside Volcano Manor, where a Northwest ledge can be found at Bestial Sanctum in the Dragonbarrow region.

SinceElden Ring’slaunch last month, a number of controversial improvements have been made to make the adventuring more seamless. One of the most notable adjustments was thechange to Starscourge Radahn’s behaviourthat made the notoriously difficult boss easier to confront. While this has left some in dismay, exploits are part and parcel of how some choose to approach the unforgiving gameplay inElden Ring.

It is unsure how long this glitch will be left in-game for players, given therecent patch update inElden Ringalso nerfed the Mimic Tear Ash and removed access to some previously discovered bugs. Despite this, the drive to find more locations where this can be exploited is surely on the horizon. Unfortunate in that Torrent has to face their demise into the great unknown, the ability to fly is a great leap forwards in terms of speedrunning approaches.

Elden Ringis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
