There’s been a fairly large gap between 2015’sDying Lightand the sequel, which is finally due to come out in February 2022. Given thatDying Light 2was announced at E3 in 2018, fans have been waiting patiently for its inevitable release. With the sequel less than two months away from hitting the shelves, more information has come to light about the game. Specifically, it’s been announced what players will need to run the game on PC, as well as what the developer, Techland, recommends for best performance.
According to a recent report, the studio has finally given details about the hardware specifications forDying Light 2: Stay Human. A quick glance at the minimum requirements suggests that players won’t need to break the bank in order to run the sequel, with an Intel i3 or AMD Ryzen 3 running at 8 GB of RAM being optimal to play the game, most likely at low-to-mid settings. Naturally, as the requirements increase, users will need a stronger system, but even at the highest settings, it doesn’t seem that anything above an i5 processor will be required.

The game will also need 60 GB of hard-drive space, with an SSD being recommended. This is nearly three times the console version ofDying Light 2which on PS5 may require around 21 GB of storage, but that’s before the day one patch which will inevitably be rolling out upon release.
However, when it comes to running the game at the top end of the spectrum, with DLSS and ray tracing capabilities, Techland does recommend players use anNvidia RTX 3080 graphics card, especially for those that want to run it at 60fps at 1080 resolution. RTX 2000 series cards seem to be suitable enough for general recommended settings, but obviously the best visual quality will come with the more powerful GPU. Of course, this could leave some people out of luck as many are still struggling to get hold of new hardware, so a 3080 might be a stretch for some.
Dying Light 2had a new trailer shown at this year’s Game Awards, so there’s currently quite a bit of buzz around this sequel. With hack and slash combat, parkour elements, and zombie antagonists, February is probably going to be an exciting time, especially for those who enjoyed the first game. Early impressions do suggest that fans are in for a treat, and there’s not too long to wait now.
