Disney Dreamlight Valleyis gearing up to release its third major update in just a few days, and the developer has revealed that the update will mark the much-requested return of unlimited purchasable coal at Kristoff’s Stall. This is great news forDisney Dreamlight Valleyplayers who love to cook and mine, while lots of other content arriving with the update should keep players busy for quite some time.

Similar to otherlife-sim games likeAnimal Crossing,Stardew Valley, andHarvest Moon,Disney Dreamlight Valleytasks players with harvesting all kinds of materials throughout its various biomes in order to craft food, equipment, and decorations for the players' houses and villages. Although this is generally a relaxing affair moving from one quickly-respawning resource node to another, coal is often seen as a bottleneck since it’s required for tons of recipes while having a much lower drop rate than many players are comfortable with.

To alleviate supply issues, players have been able tovisit Kristoff’s Stallto purchase crafting materials at a premium, though a recent change imposed limits on how much of a given material could be purchased. Thankfully,Disney Dreamlight Valleydevelopers have announced that, at least when it comes to coal, this limit will be lifted and players can once again purchase coal to their heart’s desire. This is particularly a boon to players who are fond of experimenting with cooking inDisney Dreamlight Valley, as every recipe requires coal as a fuel for cooking. It’s also a welcome change for players who are reluctant to smelt their huge stashes of ores for fear of running out of coal.

The upcomingDisney Dreamlight Valleyupdatehas plenty of other features to offer besides the changes to Kristoff’s Stall. Two new villagers will be arriving including Mirabel fromEncantoand Olaf fromFrozen, though the specifics as to how to unlock them haven’t been revealed yet. Additionally, a new Frosted Heights biome will be arriving with new secrets and materials to discover. Disney is also celebrating its 100th Anniversary with a new Star Path that will reward players with various unique items.

If the2023 roadmap forDisney Dreamlight Valleyis any indication, this should be a pretty solid year for fans of the Disney life-sim with new areas to explore, characters to befriend, and the highly anticipated addition of multiplayer gameplay. The next big roadmap update is slated for April and looks to be bringing someLion Kingcontent with Simba, Nala, and a new realm.
