Diablo 4has a lot of crafting materials players can find and use to upgrade their character or use to make consumable elixirs. Elixirs offer temporary boosts to various stats along with a boost in earned XP, making them useful no matter the situation.
As players level up and reach milestones, they will be able to upgrade their healing potions and make them much more efficient to make them viable with the player’s higher max health. All of these things will require a rare material known as Angelbreath; here’s how to get some.
Updated June 02, 2025 by Erik Petrovich: With thelaunch of Vessel of Hatred, Angelbreath has become quite sought-after as players enter the endgame of the first Diablo 4 DLC and Season 6. On launch, Diablo 4 players found it easy enough to get Angelbreath in enough quantities to upgrade to Level 40 potions, but the sheer amount of Angelbreath required for higher upgrades seemed impossible. With the second Hotfix for VoH, Angelbreath has become significantly easier to acquire, speeding up the process to upgrade Potions and adding some variety to the Angelbreath sources Diablo 4 has sorely needed. This guide to get Angelbreath in Diablo 4 has been updated for Vessel of Hatred, including three significant new sources: high-level dungeons, Campaign bosses, and Torment difficulty Elites.
Where To Get Angelbreath In Diablo 4
Angelbreath can be found growing randomly throughout the world, though it is incredibly rare and there are better ways to farm Angelbreath than to travel and hope to randomly find some to harvest. There are essentially four fast ways to get Angelbreath inDiablo 4: Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, Campaign bosses, and Elites in at least Torment 1 Difficulty.
Angelbreath in Helltides
One easymethod to get Angelbreath is by opening Tortured Chests in the Helltide. This will require players to farmAberrant Cinders inDiablo 4, and chests are not guaranteed to drop these materials.
Players can useProfane Mindcages inDiablo 4to increase the drop rate of Aberrant Cinders, and can also attempt to kill the Blood Maiden to maximize the amount of Cinders they earn during the event.
But even at early levels Helltides are a great source for Angelbreath when completing events within the Helltide. All Helltide Events have a chance to drop Angelbreath, so focus on hitting as many Events as possible and kill as many Helltide bosses as you can within the time limit for the best chance at getting Angelbreath from Helltides.
Angelbreath in Nightmare Dungeons
Another method for farming Angelbreath is to clearNightmare Dungeons. With the second Hotfix forVessel of HatredNightmare Dungeonshave become one of the best ways to farm Angelbreathfrom level 30 onward. This is because allDungeon bosses from Level 30 and up have a high chance to drop 10x Bundled Herbs and 2x Angelbreath on defeat. Fromlevel 50 to max level, all Dungeon bosses start dropping bundles of 30x Bundled Herbs and 7x Angelbreath.
Nightmare Dungeons have an even higher chance to reward Angelbreath, and if you turn up your difficulty and take on harder Nightmare Dungeons, the chance to get high-level materials like Angelbreath increases even more.
Angelbreath From Campaign Bosses
With theVessel of Hatred Hotfix 2update, multiple Angelbreath sources were added to the game, including the aforementioned Dungeon bosses from level 30 and up. FromLevel 50 to max level, regular andVessel of HatredCampaign bosses have a high chance to drop 30x Bundled Herbs and 7x Angelbreathtoo.
If you are having a hard time with Angelbreath farming,Diablo 4players at level 50 to level 60 who haven’t finished the campaign should spend a few hours completingboth the base and the DLC storylinesfor a way to get some easy Angelbreath from the required bosses.
Angelbreath in Torment 1 Difficulty
Once you beat theVessel of Hatredcampaign and clear The Pit at Level 20, you will unlock the first Torment level.Unlocking Torment 1 overhauls your possible lootin all endgame activities, and you will now have a chance toearn Angelbreath from Elitesyou kill throughout Sanctuary.
It’s perfectly possible to get enough Angelbreath to unlock Level 50 and 60 Potionsbefore reaching max level, especially after the secondVoHhotfix. But in Torment 1, you will be inundated with Angelbreath, especially if you take on Helltides which tend to spawn a ton of Elites throughout the time.
Focus on taking down Elites in Helltides to get Angelbreath once you reach this milestone, as it’s easily the fastest way to get Angelbreath inDiablo 4. But because it’s locked behind unlocking Torment difficulty, it can take a while to get to this lucrative point.
What Is Angelbreath Used For In Diablo 4
One of the endgameuses for Angelbreath is for rerolling the stats onAffixesinDiablo 4, which greatly helps in rounding out your build after reaching the max level. Earlier than that, Angelbreath will be used when trying to upgrade your healing potion to some of the highest levels. While players should save Angelbreath early on when possible, this is a situation where it is a necessity.
Angelbreath is also acommon crafting material in many Elixirs, which are great ways to increase earned XP. Angelbreath is also a necessary item to craft an elixir that lets playersuse two elixirs at once inDiablo 4. Some other elixirs players will need Angelbreath for are:
