Xur has returned again toDestiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. Speaking of exotics,Season of the Deep finally released its unique exotic mission, ultimately leading to the Wicked Implement scout rifle. However, players will need to do a bit of leg work prior, catching all three exotic fish from each of the destinations, and then taking the broken blades from them into a Deep Dive activity to place them within statues hidden throughout.
While players seem to enjoy the mission itself, things have unfortunately gotten a bit more difficult.Destiny 2players have noted that Deep Dive missions have become more chaotic and confusingthan ever as matchmade fireteams are not always on the same page as to what step of the quest they’re on or the goals they’re trying to achieve. As such, players are going their own directions, bypassing areas that others need to get to to complete their own agendas instead.

In the meantime, the weekend merchant Xur has made a return to the world ofDestiny 2. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of July 07, 2025.
Where is Xur?
Over the next few days, Xur can be found hanging out in the Tower Hangar.
As usual, fast travel to the main Tower location and head left into the Hangar. Once there, take another left and move past the Dead Orbit section to find a metal staircase. Move up the stairs to find Xur on a platform overlooking the mountain range off in the distance.
Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary toacquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.
Wings of Sacred Dawn - Warlock chest armor
Exotic Perk:
Tome of Dawn - When Dawnblade is equipped, aiming weapons while the player is in midair suspends them there for a short time, improving airborne accuracy, reducing incoming flinch, and granting damage resistance. Weapon hits extend this effect’s duration. Provides a large benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons.
While not one of the top tier Warlock exotics, Wings of Sacred Dawn and its perks are clearly not for everyone especially given the fact that it ultimately exposes the player by keeping them elevated. As such, it’s an easy one to pass one this week.
Wormhusk Crown - Hunter helmet
Burning Souls - Dodging gives a small health and shield bump.
Even at a 66 overall, the Wormhusk Crown is technically the lowest of the three. Still, this helmet may not be as strong as it once was, but it can still come in handy in a pinch. It’s a very solid pickup this week especially with an above average roll.
Stronghold - Titan gauntlets
Clenched Fist - Maximizes guard stats on equipped Swords. Players take reduced damage while blocking with a Sword. Rapidly damaging targets after blocking shots with a Sword grants restoration for a duration determined by the number of shots blocked.
While this is technically a great roll for Titans, the usefulness of this exotic item is up for debate. Obviously, it has zero benefit for players who don’t use swords, making this exotic very situational at best. For most players, this item is likely a skip, though it may be worth picking up to replace worse or collection rolls. It is worth noting that Swords are getting reworked in the near future, so this exotic may be worth owning and stashing.
Stat Values (67 total):
Exotic Weapon
Theone-timeDestiny 2pre-order exotic Coldheartis now available with Xur. Coldheart fires a beam of cold energy thanks to its exotic perk Cold Fusion. When combined with its other perk, called Longest Winter, the beam does increased damage the longer it remains on a target.
Trace Rifles got a boost all the way back in Season 17 and considering this is a fun weapon to use, it may be worth a look. It’s not a top tier weapon at the moment, so it won’t likely replace the go to weapons, but it’s not a terrible choice either.
Weapon perks:
Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions,Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.
