Due to just how bigDestiny 2is in terms of game files and assets, Bungie had to come up with the Destiny Content Vault last year when the Beyond Light expansion launched. This was designed to help reduce the impact of files that weren’t deemed as necessary for the game’s future, thus making loading times faster whenever new big content drops happened. As such, with the release of The Witch Queen in February of next year closing in, Bungie announced that theForsaken campaign and the Tangled Shore would be vaultedas a result.

The vaulting of Forsaken was something the community had mixed feelings about, and some players are still sad that this will remove most traces ofCayde-6from the game, if not for a few memorials in the Tower and some voice lines on Nessus. Still,Destiny 2saying goodbye to the Tangled Shore and the Forsaken campaign is something that players would like to see celebrated before the final departure, possibly with an in-game event or some special loot.

Thus, a Reddit user by the name of Spawnling suggested that Bungie provides players with a unique token to remember what will be lost, and that would be an Adept version of the Edge Transit grenade launcher. The weapon has long been sunset, but what made thisDestiny 2gun so iconic was that players created several memes on it due to many Legendary items obtained after the launch of Forsaken, including Engrams, turned out to be copies of Edge Transit. Everyone who played the game had the gun because it would for some reason drop more often than any other, and it wasn’t even that great of a grenade launcher at the time.

With Edge Transit now gone, some players still keep their Vaults full of a bunch of copies of the grenade launcher just to honor the memes from a long time ago. With this in mind, it’s easy to see how a reprised version of the gun would be such a fantastic parting gift forDestiny 2playerswho want to have something to remember Forsaken by. An Adept version would be even funnier, due to Adept weapons only coming from some peak activities, like Grandmaster Nightfalls and Trials of Osiris.

Since Gambit was introduced with Forsaken, it would be nice to have an event tied to Edge Transit and the game mode, maybe allowing players to have infinite Edge Transit ammo and deal more damage. Right now, however, the best way toone-shot the entire opposing team in Gambit forDestiny 2playersis to rely on hard-hitting weapons with AoE, like Deathbringer and One Thousand Voices, but there is hope for Edge Transit’s return.

Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
