Destiny 2players are unhappy with the rewards they obtain by clearing encounters in Master dungeon activities. Despite the introduction of new weapons, armor, and exotics with the Lightfall expansion, players believe the Master dungeon reward pool may be disadvantageous toward progression inDestiny 2.
This past February,Destiny 2: Lightfallbrought a slew of craftable legendary weapons. Some of these new weapons are attuned to the Strand element, which players may also wield in new Strand subclasses.Season of the Deepis expected to add more Strand weapons, and players are currently finishing up Season of Defiance content before the new season begins this May. Season of the Deep will also add a new dungeon, but players are unhappy about the current reward structure of existing dungeons withinDestiny 2.

In a recent Reddit post by user xSpectre_iD,Destiny 2players are voicing their frustrations with rewards obtained by completing encounters in Master dungeon activities. Specifically, the inclusion of legendary world loot drops in Master dungeons is makingDestiny 2players unhappy after spending time trying to clear the game’s hardest challenges. For example, xSpectre_iD is disappointed about obtaining several Seventh Seraph Carbine auto rifles after completing multiple dungeons on the Master difficulty.Destiny 2players believe reward drop rates for Master dungeon gear should be increased, and legendary world loot drops should be removed from the activity altogether.
Master dungeon rewards include dungeon-exclusive Exotic weapons and Artifice armor, which offers an additional mod slot. However, the Master dungeon reward pool also includes legendary world loot drops, which are typically found by completing normal playlist activities or exploring destinations like Europa and Neomuna. As a result, some players believe the legendary world loot drops diminish the Master dungeon experience sinceDestiny 2’shigh-level activitiesare designed to award powerful gear upon successful completions.
Legendary world loot drops continue to be a polarizing topic in theDestiny 2community during Year 6. Many believe these drops allow players to obtain rewards they may have missed inprior years ofDestiny 2, but others believe the existence of these drops are detrimental to reward pools in high-level content. A possible solution includes removing these drops entirely from Master dungeons and increasing the drop rate for dungeon-exclusive drops.
Ultimately, it’s up to Bungie to consider adjusting the loot pool in Master-level activities. Bungie highly values player feedback from the community, so changes could be made in the future ifDestiny 2players continue to voice their frustration with Master dungeon rewards in a respectable manner. Some highly-requested changes may come withinSeason of Defiance’s mid-season update, but it remains to be seen if the loot pool will be affected in any way.
Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
