WithDestiny 2being a looter shooter, every piece of gear counts when it comes to gameplay, be it in PvE or PvP. Armor hasn’t always been a crucial aspect of the game, however, and it only really started to shine again once Bungie introduced the Armor 2.0 update in Shadowkeep, making each piece of armor all the more valuable toDestiny 2players. However, this came at the cost of “fashion,” so to speak, as players would often have to use armor they didn’t really like over other pieces because it was better.
This aspect ofDestiny 2dramatically changed just a few months ago during Season of the Splicer, just a few months ago, asAda-1returned as a dedicated vendor for the game’s new transmog system. This allows players to transform any piece of armor they unlocked into a universal ornament, which essentially acts as a permanent cosmetic that can be added or removed from any item. As such, it became common amongDestiny 2players to use the system to cosplay as their favorite characters from other franchises or create their own incredible looks.

A Reddit user by the name of Ways_away shared a post with a screenshot of theirDestiny 2Guardian, which looks a lot like a character fromThe DivisionorThe Division 2. The resemblance is so uncanny, that the fan ended up using a sort of crossover reference as their post title, stating that the Guardian was brought back to life in the Manhattan Nuclear Zone and had a weird watch on their wrist. When Guardians are brought back by Ghosts, they lose all the memories of their past lives, and the player’s headcanon is that theirDestiny 2character was once part of The Division.
In order to create the look, the player made good use of two new universal ornaments that came fromDestiny 2’s 30th Anniversary Pack. Specifically, because the character is a Hunter, the piece that brings the whole look home is the cloak, which is the Streetwise Cloak Ornament. The reason is that this is currently the only Hunter cloak in the game to come with a beanie, which would often be worn byThe Divisioncharacters.
Recently, anotherDestiny 2player shared theirDark Souls-inspired look, which turned out to be very close to one ofDark Souls 2’s bosses - the Pursuer.Destiny 2’s transmog system is not perfect, but it surely is one of the best things to come to the game since it improves the degree of customization players have over their characters.
Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
