Three of the Hoenn region’s most popularPokemonhave been combined by a Redditor with a vision and no shortage of creativity. Gardevoir, Bisharp, and Ninjask have all come togetherto form a “fusion art"that looks like it could fit right in the world of a Game Freak game.

Pokemonfusions are only somewhat canon within the actual lore of the show and the games. Kyurem, for example, can fuse with either Reshiram or Zekrom inPokemon White 2 and Black 2to make its White or Black form. The legendary Pokemon Zygarde is also composed of many different cells and cores that fuse together to allow the Order Pokemon to take its various forms. With this fan art, though, an entirely new Pokemon can be seen, made up of various parts and design features from Gardevoir, Bisharp, and Ninjask. The result is something really impressive.

The art shows a full profile of the fusion Pokemon, which doesn’t get its own name sadly, as well as a smaller, pixel art form that gives a glimpse at what it might look like to encounter this creature in one of the earlier main titles. It’s nostalgic to see pixel art renderings of Pokemon, although it’s worth noting that Pokemon games have been using 3D models for overworld and battle animations sincePokemon X and Y. Seeing a 3D model that shows what this three-way hybrid Pokemon would look like in the newScarlet and Violetgames would be interesting.Click here to see the full Reddit post.

There was a time when a fusion between these three would be a fusion between three fully-evolved Pokemon, but the most recent generation of games has made this not the case.Pokemon Scarlet and Violetintroduced a number ofnew evolutions for Pokemon that debuted in earlier generations, sometimes also known as “legacy evolutions.” After years of being final forms, there are now continuations for Pokemon like Dunsparce, Girafarig, and, yes, Bisharp. It would be interesting to see a version of this fusion utilizing Bisharp’s new evolution Kingambit.

Fusing multiple Pokemon together to make a completely new Pokemon isn’t something Game Freak has ever done, but it has been a popular concept among fans for years. There’s even a Pokemon Fusion Generator out there on the internet that went viral not too long ago for all the silly combinations that are possible to make. Even though Game Freak loves new forms, evolutions, and gimmicks each generation, it is unlikely to ever introduce this concept. At a very minimum, if it ever did, the feature would have to be incredibly limited, because there are just too many Pokemon nowadays to be able to fuse them all into something completely new. 1,008 Pokemon would combine to make tens of thousands of new fusions. Not a simple task. It’s still fun to seePokemonfan projects like this, though.
