The next few weeks are shaping up to be an exciting time forCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers, as the battle royale is closing in on the launch of Season 2 ofWarzone Pacific. While the newWarzoneseason doesn’t start until February 14, Raven Software has already begun to update the game. Among the areas being addressed by the developer is Loadout Drops, a major point of frustration among many players.
Part ofWarzonesince it launched in March of 2020, Loadout Drops allow players to call in loot, including perks, weapons, and equipment to use in battle. However, things changed arguably for the worst with the introduction ofthe new Caldera map. With the start of Season 1 ofWarzone Pacific, the developers decided to make Loadout Drops only available for purchase by players after the first public Loadout Drop. Many complained that this slowed down the pace of the game as players often were forced to wait to engage until they could purchase better gear. Fortunately for fans, the developers appear to have finally listened to their complaints.

In a tweet from February 3, the developers at Raven Software revealed that a new update forWarzonehad recently gone live. Among the changes, the developers detailed a revision to the way Loadout Drops function in standard battle royale matches. According to the developer, the system was being reverted to how it operated during its time on the Verdansk map. With this update, players can now purchase a Loadout Drop from Buy Stations at any point during a game, as opposed to having to wait until later in the match.
This is obviously a substantial change from the way the system had been working at the start of Season 1. Since posting this update on Twitter, many fans have weighed in with some expressing their approval of this revision to the Loadout Drop system. However, it is worth noting that this change only applies to the standard battle royale mode. The Vanguard Royale modeswill continue to use the delayed system implemented at the start ofWarzone Pacific Season 1.
It is nice to see that the developers at Raven Software appear to be listening to fan feedback by revertingthe Loadout Drop systemback to the way it was on Verdansk. It will be interesting to see how this change impacts the gameplay experience for players ahead of the release of Season 2 ofWarzone Pacificin less than 2 weeks. Hopefully, it will make battle royale matches more enjoyable for players.
