Call of Duty: Warzonehas gotten a surprise weekend update. Arguably the most notable change in the newCall of Duty: Warzoneupdate is that it removes the standard BR Solos mode from the game and replaces it with a new mode called BR Stimulus Solos.
The BR Stimulus Solos mode inCall of Duty: Warzoneis similar to standard BR Solos, but with a twist. The BR Stimulus Solos mode removes thepopular Gulag featurefrom the game, and instead lets players respawn automatically if they have enough cash. Players in this mode start with $4,500 on them from the start, so everyone starts with enough money for a free respawn. Of course, they could choose to spend that cash instead, which potentially costs them their respawn but may give them an advantage if they get into a firefight.

It remains to be seen howCall of Duty: Warzonefans will react to the new BR Stimulus Solos mode. The Gulag is one of the most popular features inCall of Duty: Warzone, and some fans may be upset that they only way they can enjoy it now is by playing Trios or Quads. This also marks yet another occasion thatInfinity Wardhas replaced a popular mode when introducing a new one instead of just adding a new one, which is a practice that the studio has been criticized for in the past.
While the removal of standardBR Soloswith Stimulus Solos is definitely the biggest change introduced toCall of Duty: Warzonein the new update, it’s not the only one. Infinity Ward has also reduced the height and radius at which parachuting enemy players can be called out, which should make it a little easier for those returning from the Gulag to land on the ground alive. This will also apply to Stimulus Solos players when they respawn as well.
Additionally, the newCall of Duty: Warzoneupdate also brings helicopters back to the game.Helicopters were previously removed fromCall of Duty: Warzonefor unannounced reasons, but many have speculated that they were removed due to a bug. For the uninitiated,Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers had figured out a way to use helicopters to get underneath the map, allowing for very unfair victories in the game. Presumably, this exploit will no longer be possible, or else Infinity Ward would have held off on adding helicopters back.
Looking ahead, there will likely be anotherCall of Duty: Warzoneupdateon Tuesday, May 12, as Infinity Ward updates the game on a weekly basis. Fans of theWarzonebattle royale should stay tuned to learn what’s next for the game.
