Call of Duty: WarzoneSeason 2 has been ongoing for several weeks now. While most of the exciting content drops came with the Season’s launch,Call of Duty: Warzonefans have been waiting patiently for the midseason update so that they can see what Rebirth Reinforced is all about.
Currently, details on the new version of Rebirth Island are fairly limited, though the updated map was teased in the blog post detailingCall of Duty: WarzoneSeason 2’s content. Here, Raven Software promised “substantial changes” to the map and shared an image of what looks to be a new area. According to the developer, “something lurks within Rebirth Island’s Shadows,” a vague description that could suggest Rebirth Island will soon be worked into the ongoing Vanguard narrative.

Now, a new teaser for the updated island was posted by the officialRaven SoftwareTwitter account, and fans can see the map’s logo as well as the points of interest it will feature. Based on the points of interest showcased, Docks and Stronghold will serve as brand-new areas to fight in. Many of the major locations from the original map still seem to be present, with areas like Chemical Engineering and the Nova 6 Factory both present. However, even if similar names are reused and some assets remain, the map could end up playing a lot differently from how it does in its current state.
Rebirth Island Reinforced could be comparable toVerdansk 84in the sense that it reworks building interiors and provides visual changes to the map as a while. Much like how Superstore became a completely different area with the switch to Verdansk 84, the new version of Rebirth Island could feature some fresh gameplay in familiar areas. For now, though, this is purely speculation, as all fans know for sure is that a different version of Rebirth Island is about to be released.
In the new teaser from Raven Software, the map is confirmed to be dropping “next week,” though an exact date has not been provided. Regardless, midseason content forCall of Duty: VanguardandCall of Duty: Warzoneis just days away, and it will be interesting to see how gamers react to the new Rebirth Island. WhileCaldera has been divisiveto say the least, Verdansk 84 was well received, and this new Rebirth map seems to be more comparable to the latter than the former.
With someCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers already sharing concern that Rebirth will soon be ruined, hopefully the map turns out to be a crowd pleaser. If it is not popular, then many may give up on the battle royale title and play something elseuntilCall of Duty: Warzone 2arrives.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
