Summary
FollowingCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s Season 2 Reloaded update, Sledgehammer Games has made the Stim Tactical Equipment reusable by allowing it to recharge after 25 seconds. This might sound like a familiar characteristic to fans, as some ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s predecessors incorporated a similar feature for the item.
Call of Duty’s Season 2 Reloaded updatemade plenty of changes toModern Warfare 3, including nerfs to powerful weapons like the BP50 and BAS-B. It also added one new map, a remastered Das Haus fromCall of Duty: Vanguard, as well as the Bounty mode, which is basically Team Deathmatch with a twist. As for equipment, the major update also made some changes to the EMD Grenade, which is the Tactical item that allows users to temporarily track targeted users. Now, tracked enemies constantly appear on the minimap while its effects are active, and new UI elements better communicate when an enemy is being tracked.
Modern Warfare 3’s Stims also saw a major change, as users can now reuse the Tactical Equipment every 25 seconds. This benefits users who attract damage and also manage to stay alive, which is made easier by the Stim’s regenerative effect and movement boost. Fans who played 2019’sModern Warfareor 2020’sBlack Ops Cold Warare probably familiar with this change, as those games allowed the Stim to recharge after 25 seconds and 11 seconds, respectively.
Modern Warfare 3 Changes Stims
Users can equipModern Warfare 3’s Demolition Vest, which allows users to resupply Lethal and Tactical Equipment, to get an additional buff that recharges the Stim after about 12 seconds. Balancing the Stim is likely a delicate matter, as it can provide users with a massive advantage in gunfights if they manage to find cover and apply the item.
Following the previously mentioned 2019 and 2020Call of Dutyentries, development teams chose to nerf the Stim by removing its recharge aspect. BetweenCold Warand now, it was a single-use item that decreased in popularity. However, the Stim could becomeModern Warfare 3’s next overpowered itemafter the recent update.
Call of Dutyusers have additional changes to look forward to during Season 2 Reloaded.Modern Warfare 3’sWarhammer 40Keventbegins on March 13 and introduces the limited-time Juggermosh mode, which sees users play asWarhammer 40K-themed Juggernauts for the entirety of a match.
