Gamers everywhere have been tuned in to see what new contentBlack Ops Cold Warwill be bringing to theCall of Dutyfranchise. A flood of new information about the upcoming game has been released, including some of what is new and what is returning. OneCold Warperk in particular is a returning favorite, but it seems to have undergone some changes.
With thebeta forCold Warhaving a date set, there are plenty for players to test out when the time comes. One of these is at the top of the list for most-used perks over the years: Dead Silence. While it was removed inModern Warfare, it seems the perk is coming back inCold Warwith some changes.

First of all, the name will be different. Dead Silence is renamed to Ninja, and this name change matters due to how the perk now functions. Rather than almost entirely removing player movement sound–thus creating a dead silence–the new version of the perk allows the player to sprint more quietly. This alludes to the idea that it will still be audible, just at a much lower volume.
On the more tug-of-war side of returning features, it seemsthe Prestige system may end up being addedtoCold Warafter all. While it was previously said thatCold Warwouldn’t ship with a Prestige system in place, a recent poll to fans that overwhelmingly supported the feature may have swayed the developers. It is likely that something like this won’t make the cut for the base game but will instead be added at a later date.
Dead Silence is a confirmed returning favorite, and the Prestige system is a strong possibility. Aside from those, there are tons that players don’t know about returning weapons and perks. Some are still being revealed, while others may have to wait until beta testing begins next month. It will be interesting to see ifanyModern Warfareweapons make the jumpto the next game.
One killstreak that is likely to return is another favorite: RC-XD. Theremote-controlled explosive device was a popular pickback in the day, and it may be time to see a return of the exploding doom on wheels. There is a sort of chopper gunner killstreak as well, but the full list might not be shown until gamers can get their hands on the actual game.
Cold Waris set to be a mix of well-loved features and brand-new ideas.Jet skis and snowmobiles are perfect examplesof things that might never have worked in previousCall of Dutygames but might be a fun addition in this one. Players will have to see what returning favorites and new creations the game has to offer when the beta starts in a few short weeks.
