Zombies has been a popular game mode in theCall of Dutyfranchise ever since it was first introduced inCall of Duty: World at War. Most entries since then have featured Zombies in one form or another, though2019’sCall of Duty: Modern Warfareditched Zombiesas it clashed with the game’s realistic tone. Luckily for Zombies fans who were disappointed that the mode wasn’t in last year’s entry, a new leak claims that Zombies is coming back forCall of Duty 2020.

This leak comes from TheGamingRevolution, who has been accurate aboutCall of Dutyleaks in the past. Even so, fans should still take this information with a grain of salt. It’s entirely possible that TheGamingRevolution’s information is off or that plans will change by the time the game comes out.

In a new video, TheGamingRevolution claims that Zombies inCall of Duty 2020, itselfrumored to be aBlack Opsreboot, will retain things like perks and Pack-A-Punch while still being “way different than before.” There will reportedly be multiple ways to play Zombies inCall of Duty 2020, though specific details weren’t revealed in TheGamingRevolution’s new video.

TheGamingRevolution stresses that his source for the Zombies information isn’t quite as reliable as his source for otherBlack Opsreboot leaks, but the claim was made that a TranZit remake map will be “on disc” forCall of Duty 2020. TranZit, for those who may not remember, was a popular Zombies map fromBlack Ops 2that revolved around riding a bus to and from various locations.

TheGamingRevolution believes that the TranZit remake map, as well as Buried and Die Rise remakes, were all intended forBlack Ops 4Zombies, but were scrapped as Treyarch had to turn its attention toCall of Duty 2020prematurely. Because of this, it’s theorized that Buried and Die Rise remakes will also be coming toCall of Duty 2020as well. As far as new maps, if theBlack Opsreboot is set during the Cold War, it’s expected that Zombies will be based in Vietnam.

As far as the ongoing Zombies storyline, it’s less clear what Treyarch will be doing with that. It’s possible it will reboot the Zombies story along with the campaign or even attempt a continuation of some kind. It’s noted that sinceTreyarch’s Zombies director Jason Blundellhas left the company, Zombies will likely take a new creative direction than in previous entries.

Again, none of this has been confirmed and fans should treat all of these claims with a healthy amount of skepticism. But sincenewCall of Dutygamesare typically revealed in May or June, it’s possible that fans won’t have to wait long to find out if any of this is legitimate or not.

Call of Duty 2020is in development for unspecified platforms.
