8Galera of the Living Briar
When people think of lightning, it should be a sudden burst of crackling energy that can pierce through enemies. While the Galera of the Living Briar does the former well, it is ironically slow to cast. After a short casting time, the Penitent One summons a lighting ball where they are standing and a bolt shoots out in a straight line.
The Galera of the Living Briar needs some time to get used to its timing, but when players get the hang of its cast time, it can be a decent Quick Verse option to quell multiple enemies that are in front of the Penitent One.
7Bleeding Crown
Bleed magic fromBlasphemousreturns in the sequel, and it has two variations. The Bleeding Crown is a ground-based Bleed magical projectile that sees the Penitent One shoot a spinning crimson saw that spins on the ground and in a straight line where the Penitent One is facing. Enemies in the crimson saw’s way will get damaged: this is exceptional for fighting the cloaked automatons that have charged mystical attacks.
The Bleeding Crown is an effective Quick Verse for crowd control against grounded enemies. However, since the Bleeding Crown is a ground-based projectile, it won’t hit any flying enemies.
6Bleeding Miracle
Those whoplayed the firstBlasphemousgamewill be familiar with this Quick Verse. The Bleeding Miracle has the Penitent One toss a crimson ring that shoots in a straight line and returns to where it was shot from. This is a great Quick Verse to tag those pesky flying enemies that can’t be reached by the Penitent One’s weapons.
In other cases, the Bleeding Miracle is also useful whensniping out wayward Cherubsthat are often located in hard-to-reach areas. In a pinch, throwing out Bleeding Miracle during boss fights is also a good option since its casting time is rather quick and doesn’t cost that much Fervour.
5Martinete of Forge and Thunder
Players who explore the early areas in the game will be quick to find out how annoying those scimitar-wielding enemies are, with their highly damaging and scarily accurate spinning sword flinging move. For the Penitent One, their version of this attack is the Martinete of Forge and Thunder. As its name suggests, this Quick Verse has the Penitent One fling a spinning electrically-charged mace at a high arc that will damage enemies on its way down.
This Quick Verse is also great when paired withthe Sarmiento and Centella weapon, as this weapon boosts lightning-elemental attacks.
4Zejel of the Cruelest Thorn
Miasma attacks inBlasphemous 2are surprisingly more potent than in the previous game. Luckily, the Penitent One has a Quick Verse that can weaponize this type of magic damage against enemies in the form of the Zejel of the Cruelest Thorn. When cast, spheres of miasma surround the Penitent One: players can hold the cast button to let the spheres spread out and spin around the Penitent One to damage enemies.
The Penitent One can cast the Zejel of the Cruelest Thorn while airborne as well:this can hit flying enemiesmultiple times as well as some bosses. Holding the cast button costs Fervour, so players need to be mindful of their Fervour Bar.
3Rosa of the Three Stars
Blasphemous 2has no shortage when it comes to fire-based magic attacks. The Rosa of the Three Stars is a great fire magic attack that sees the Penitent One shoot three fireballs in a cone where they are facing. This is great for hitting multiple enemies at once or hitting one huge boss with all three fireballs.
The spread is also decent, and the projectiles travel a good distance: this can be used on Cherubs that can’t be whacked with the Penitent One’s weapons.
2Liviana of the Blighted Blades
As playersprogress through the many areasofBlasphemous 2, enemies begin to get more variety, especially when it comes to their projectiles. Some enemies have homing projectiles that deal massive damage if they tag the Penitent One. That said, Liviana of the Blighted Blades is the Penitent One’s answer to having a homing attack of their own. After casting, a number of blades emanate from the Penitent One, then each blade flies toward the closest enemy to damage them.
This attack is great for taking out swathes ofenemies and even bosses. Casting this against bosses that are on the opposite end of their stage is a great tactic to keep the pressure on.
1Serrana of the Kindled Hearth
As far as Quick Verses go, the Serrana of the Kindled Hearth is the best one in the game. Players can hold on to the cast button while this is equipped to have the Penitent One unleash a torrent of fire where they are facing. This is effective against enemies that are in front of the Penitent One as well as bosses that are recovering from their respective attacks.
Running this with The Purified One Altarpiece greatly enhances the Serrana of the Kindled Hearth’s damage. However, holding the cast button to set enemies ablaze with this Quick Verse will drain Fervour the longer it is held.
