With the work of Insomniac Games on this title being as lauded as ever, it’s easy to see why players without a PlayStation are sorely missing the brilliance of this title on other platforms. Switch owners who love the webhead can try out some other games to have fun on the Switch with a similar level of gameplay.

Bowser’s Furyis a natural evolution oftheMariogames, featuring a great interconnected world where players can head to any level they want. The original levels in the game are also pretty fun to explore in their own right, even if the traversal may not be nearly as open-ended.

Players can use a wealth of powers inBowser’s Furyto approach certain challenges, and it’s always harrowing to escape Bowser when he loses his marbles. The challenges in this title are pretty engaging, with Mario’s movement feeling as natural and exciting as ever.

To this day, the charming reveal of the firstUnravelgame serves as a great example of what passionate indie developers can achieve. Fans were glad to see that this charming title received a sequel that is fully compatible with co-op play too.

Some people felt that Nintendo wouldn’t really innovate on this winning formula, especially with the same map being used for this new experience, but it was clear that a developer like Nintendo would rather let this game get canceled than not bring anything new to the table like they always do for their first-party titles.

The new abilities present inTears of the Kingdomare truly game-changing, with Ultrahand being especially impressive and showing just how creative players could get with a new mechanic that allowed them to make structures with pretty much anything in the game world! Just like its predecessor,Tears of the Kingdomhas taken the world by storm, with players getting lost in the massive world of this game as they continue to create structures that are either astounding, hilarious, or a combination of both!

The rise of indie gaming has allowed for several innovative titles to crop up that can wow the masses with their ingenious game design and thought-provoking stories.No game personifies this more thanCeleste, a brilliant title that expertly explores themes of mental health while allowing players to conquer a tough platforming game where a single misstep can have dire consequences.

Players need to have pinpoint precision with their movement while navigating the game’s many stages, something that fans of theSpider-Mangames will be quite familiar with. It takes a while to come to grips with the level of skillCelestedemands from the player, but fans who get into the groove of this game will love what this beloved indie gem brings to the table!

Ori and the Blind Forestis a beautiful indie title with one of the most heartbreaking opening segments in gaming history. The title does a great job of setting an emotional tone for the story without using any spoken dialogue, which is a massive achievement in and of itself. The movement mechanics in this game are truly stellar, with the combat being simple and brief enough to give a momentary respite from the platforming while shaking things up a bit.

Some people may recommendOri and the Will of the Wispsinstead, but this title prioritizes combat a lot more than tight platforming challenges. Just like theSpider-Mangames, the movement mechanics itself are almost always more engaging than battling goons, which is whyOri and the Blind Forestis the perfect game for fans of the webhead.

After the release of the first twoBioShocktitles, most people were surprised to see the vast open city of Columbia as the next destination for the series. It seemed like a massive departure from the claustrophobic halls of Rapture, which worried some fans when this game was announced. Thankfully,BioShock Infinitemanaged to prove everyone wrong, with it being absolutely incredible and laden with an oppressive atmosphere that clashed brilliantly with the seemingly free setting of Columbia.

Along with this, players also need to be on the move constantly, with this combination of fast-paced moves and excellent combat contributing to a wonderful experience in both titles.

It helps that the story is pretty great as well, with the exploration of a Greek setting sitting well with many fans. The new changes to the gameplay were pretty contentious, but many people would agree thatOdysseywas a step in the right direction.
