Though without the right set of skills, players will have a tough time getting anywhere. Be it an elephant, buffalo, or a horde of monos, there are all sorts of beasts and enemies out inCraftopia’sworld that could smash them down if they’re not careful. But with these skills, players will be able to take them down and explore the world more effectively.
9Collector
This skill doesn’t help the player’s mobility, magic, or moves, but it is handy for getting extra items and other goodies from fallen foes. The Collector ability adds the chance of enemies dropping additional items when they’re beaten. It’s a passive Basic Skill in Tier 2 that can be leveled up 6 times.
At first, it only offers a 1% chance of extra items, and it goes up to 4% at max. That doesn’t sound like much, yet it all adds up over time, especially in more enemy-dense locations and missions like Monster Hunter. With enough battling it could fill the player’s inventory with plenty of stuff to use or sell for gold.
8Lumberjack/Miner’s Quick Work
These two skills are essentially identical. They’re just used in different areas and are good basic skills to grab from the go for grinding. During their adventure, the player will need to grab wood and minerals forcrafting weapons & items. In fact, it’s vital for them to grab as many logs as they can in the early game to make workbenches, fishing rods, and gliders for better exploration.
The Lumberjack’s Quick Work, a Tier 1 Living Ability, will make hacking through trees faster. It can also be leveled up 6 times to run through woods much faster. The same goes for the Miner’s Quick Work, only it makes picking through ore mounds more of a breeze. At max level, it’ll make grabbing iron, copper, even gold and titanium, less of a struggle.
7Quick Pacing
Even with all these skills, the player needs to be nimble enough to get by, if only to make exploration less of a slog.Craftopiaoffers a vast world with multiple islands, which can go from wonderous to onerous if players can’t move quickly enough. So, if they reach Tier 5 of the Basic Skills, they’ll need to get Quick Pacing.

Sure, players can make vehiclesa laLegend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. But that doesn’t come into play until much later in the game. So, that 5% speed boost at level 1 is a good start for explorers and dodge-heaving combatants, with its 10% boost at max level a tempting offer to stick with it.
6Battle Hymn
These passive, craft-aiding abilities are pleasant enough, but what will help the player in combat? There are some good offensive abilities to consider, like Triple Slash in the early game, Dual-Wield to double the sword strikes, and more. Even so, they could do with some buffing, and not just from leveling those skills up.
Opening up Tier 2 in Combat skills will reveal new buff abilities alongside attacks. Perhaps the best of the bunch is the Battle Hymn, which will increase the player’s party’s Attack strength so long as they’re within range of the user’s song. It has a lengthy 500-second cooldown, but lasts a hefty 300 seconds, and costs just 25 Mana. It offers a humble 30% attack boost at first, but it goes up to 130% at the max level.
5Lightning Ball
The Battle Hymn works best on physical attacks, where the boost can really be felt. But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing for players focusing on magic. In fact, one of the best Magic attacks is available right in Tier 2 of the Magic abilities.
Lightning Ball is an Active skill that sees the player summon a big sphere of lightning energy that continuously strikes any enemy within it. It takes a while to cool down at 20-30 seconds and costs 50 Mana to use. But it can chain 3-5 enemies and hit them for 14-20 damage depending on level. On its own, it can be enough to take care of any hordes crowding around the player.
4Rune Stream
Also in Tier 2 is another spell worth investing in. The Rune Stream is a passive ability that, once activated, gradually increases the damage output of every subsequent spell until the caster gets hurt themselves. It only lasts 20 seconds, but it can be stacked, and each stack can be built up by other multi-hit abilities like Runic Barrage.

Rune Stream’s bonuses range from 110% at the least at level 1 to 138% at the most at its level 6 maximum. With careful use, it could turn already beefy spells like Runic Barrage and Frost Mine into one-shots that can end a bout with minimal fuss. For anyone who likes roaming the game’s dungeons, or likes getting into fights in general, this ability is a must-have.
3Rabbit Jump
Exploring on the ground is fine enough, though players will have to start scaling ledges, mountains, and other high places eventually. It’s where some of the more interesting treasures and other goodies can be hidden away. However, if the player can’t leap high enough to reach them, they’ll be stuck at best, or suffer bad fall damage at worst.
Tier 2 of the Basic Skills offers a way to get around this: the Rabbit Jump. It’ll increase the player’s jumping power with each level, starting off at 120%, then scaling up to 170% at the max level. This mobility boost will make jumping, climbing, and gettinga start on glidingmuch easier. Though it still could be better.
2Double Jump
Available in Tier 3 of Basic Skills, the Double Jump links very well with the Rabbit Jump. As the name suggests, it gives the player the ability tojump once more in mid-air, adding more jump height with each level up to its maximum at level 6. It’ll not only make exploration and mobility quick and easy, but it’ll give the player even more height and distance for gliding.
Aside from getting across large gaps, it can aid the player’s healing. Combine it with the Calming Scenery skill and the player can heal while gliding. Throw in the Beyond the Rainbow skill, and the player can glide for longer and thus heal more as they move. But they all need a good jumpstart to get going, and Double Jump provides that start.
1Heal
Why stick to workarounds like that when the player can just heal themselves directly? There are bigger Healing abilities likeResurrection and High Resurrectionthat can bring players and their parties back from the dead with a health boost. But surprisingly, the basic Heal spell at Tier 1 brings back more life in one go, reaching 70% at the max level.
That is a step above the Arch Heal and the Resurrection spells’ 55%. It has a quick, 5-second cooldown, and costs just 10 Mana to cast. It only works on single members at a time and doesn’t bring players back from the dead. With its convenience and reward, it’s perhaps one of the most necessary skills in the game.
Craftopiais available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
