Iterations ofBatmanthroughout different franchises have depicted the character with grit, stoicism, and vengeance. Considering how many interpretations ofBatmanthere have been since the 1940s, whether live-action, animated, or otherwise, the character is truly iconic and a staple of popular culture.
Some Batman interpretations are more concerned with Bruce Wayne’s detective efforts than his hand-to-hand combat, while others concentrate on the Dark Knight’s resourceful use of gadgetry.Rocksteady’sBatman: Arkhamfranchiseis a powerhouse for the character, and a fan has wondered recently how he would square up against other iterations of The Caped Crusader.

Twitter user @Insanebat_630 has posed the question of which Batman would emerge victorious in a fight between Rocksteady’s, Ben Affleck’s, Robert Pattinson’s, or Christian Bale’s. Each iteration has their strengths and weaknesses, which makes the question entertaining since it calls forth each Batman’s fighting skill, though many different characteristics are also at play to determine which interpretation might come out on top.
Consensus determines that Christian Bale’s Batman would pale in comparison to the other selections, though the argument is made that his experience under the League of Shadows' tutelage inBatman Beginsearns him some respect in a stealth-oriented encounter.
Robert Pattinson’s Batman is a new iteration that has yet to be seen fully for his pugilistic endeavors. But based onThe Batman’s trailer, Pattinson’s version appears to hunt criminals, as he compulsively finds himself outnumbered in the throes of Gotham’s denizens. Batman fans have even compared Pattinson’s brutal beatdown of a makeup-clad thug to when Rocksteady’s Batman performs a cape stun on an enemy before landing a series of combination strikes.
An agreeable point among fans is that Ben Affleck’s Batman may be the only live-action Batman selection that couldstand toe-to-toe with Rocksteady’s. Due to twenty years of experience and a unique carelessness when it comes to putting foes away, Affleck’s Batman is shown mowing criminals down with the Batmobile and engaging a warehouse full of armed assailants with expertise. Affleck’s hulking size also contributes to how intimidating and identifiable he is in Zack Snyder’s iteration of the character.
Interestingly, Michael Keaton’s Batman is left out of the conversation despite having a few scuffles of his own in Tim Burton’s films. Rather, as a hilarious honorable mention, BlanketFoonk proposes that theLEGO Batmaniterationcould take on any of the listed choices.
But because of their time spent with theCaped Crusader in theBatman: Arkhamseries, fans are certain that Rocksteady’s Batman would win. After foiling multiple supervillains throughout optional side activities and capably retrieving Riddler’s trophies, Rocksteady’s Batman is a tour de force with gadgets and technology that surpass those from the movie iterations. Besides, as another fan nonchalantly states, theArkhamBatman has fought a shark.
Regardless, as Insane posits, it is fun to picturedifferent Batman interpretationsand their different combat styles encountering one another.
