Baldur’s Gate 3has a vast cast of companions to recruit and fight alongside. One of these companions is Minthara, a powerful foe who can become an ally if the player plays their cards correctly in the incredibly exciting world ofBG3.
Who Is Minthara?
Minthara is an interesting character who makes her first appearance duringBaldur’s Gate 3’s Act 1. Minthara can join the player as a companion, or she can be fought as a boss.
Minthara belongs to the Drow Race, specifically, she is a Lolth-Sworn Drow, the more evil subrace. Her class is that of the Paladin, one of the best in the game.
How To Recruit Minthara
To recruit Minthara, the player must first go to the Goblin Camp. There, they will be able to infiltrate the Shattered Sanctum and find her in a room on the eastern side. She is one of the three Goblin Leaders. The player has the option to speak with her there.
The player must take on the “Raid the Grove” quest. This can be achieved by giving her the location of the grove, and then not backstabbing her once there. This means the player will have to helpher murder all the Tieflings.Otherwise, the player would need to fight her, which leads to her death.
Once this quest is completed, the player can celebrate with her in camp, but recruiting her will have to wait for Act 2.
Once Act 2 starts, the player will have to rescue her from the Moonrise Tower, where the player will find her being tortured. With that done, the player needs to sneak her out. Once that’s done, she’ll want to join the player’s party.
Should You Recruit Minthara in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Recruiting Minthara might be hard for some as this would mean making a clearly evil choice, but also, besides that, they risk losing two powerful party members - Wyll and Karlach. Gale might also leave unless persuaded to stay.
However, none of this truly has to happen, if the player is ready to miss out on the entire conflict between the Goblins and the Grove. Ifthe player heads to Act 2without giving Minthara the location of the grove, she’ll still be found in Act 2. Thus, the player can have her alongside Wyll and Karlach.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available to play on PC and PlayStation 5.
