Players that enjoyedBaldur’s Gate 3during its early access period will be quite familiar with seeing the game’s version number indicated below the mini-map and during cutscenes. However, some of these fans undoubtedly expected the version number text to be removed for the game’s full release, though that has not occurred at the time of writing. Fortunately, it is possible to hide the version number inBaldur’s Gate 3, and this guide explains exactly how that is done.

To note, it is certainly possible, and perhaps likely, that developer Larian Studios will eventually address the version number watermark that appears on-screen with a hotfix or patch. There has not yet been any indication of when that will occur, though, andBaldur’s Gate 3playersthat do not want to wait to hide the version number will need to rely on one of the methods that is detailed in this guide.

Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Remove Version Number Watermark

There are essentially two ways to go about hiding the version number inBaldur’s Gate 3, and the first centers around using amod. Specifically,Djmr’s Improved UI, which is hosted on Nexus Mods, “removes version text from dialogue and in-game screens,” andCRPGfans that follow the instructions that are provided in the mod’s description section should find that is quite easy to install.

The other option for removing the version number is topress F10during cutscenes, as that hotkey fully hides theUI inBaldur’s Gate 3. While this approach can be a bit tedious, as players that want to have access to the UI during gameplay will need to press F10 at the beginning and end of every cutscene, those that prefer to avoid mods may still want to pursue it. Those fans will need to resign themselves to seeing the version number under their mini-maps, though, unless they are capable of playing without a visible UI.

For those players that decide to go with the first of these two options, they may want to look around at some of the otherBaldur’s Gate 3modsthat are available on Nexus Mods. Indeed, the community has already created many tools for altering classes, basic gameplay features, and more, and fans that do a bit of browsing may find something that suits their fancy. Players should certainly not feel as though using mods is requisite, though, and they may be perfectly happy with the default gameplay experience.
