Fans have already begun studying and deciphering Ubisoft’s tease of a stone gate, which may unveil the setting for anupcoming expansion inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla.AccessTheAnimus, anAssassin’s Creedfan community, has released an in-depth video which details how the community has translated and interpreted the Isu language that was shown duringAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Ubisoft Forward presentation at E3. The community’s work uncovers a message from Loki, essentially asking after Odin and his actions (“Mad One, what have you done?") in carvings here, and all but confirms Muspelheim as a location setting for upcoming content. Unlike its first DLC, it seems this one would have implications for the modern Isu story.
It is interesting to note that either a social media representative orAssassin’s Creed’s developers themselves have issued a statement concerning the discovery. The reply directly addresses the community’s expert deciphering, stating that they have indeed solved the intended clue. TheAssassin’s Creedteam expresses that they are impressed by the community’s intrepid work, and that they even had a “contingency plan” in place that would have been shared next month if fans had been unable to decode the Ubisoft Forward presentation’s riddle.
Being able to travel to the realm of Muspelheim would not be out of the ordinary forAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. Asgard and Jotunheim are featured as ethereal realms that players can explore with their own rewards and optional side quests. It would perhaps be of fans' interest to be able to explore more realms fromNorse mythology inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, and a DLC expansion featuring Muspelheim may grant players that experience.
The communication exchanges shared between the community and the developers are as close to a confirmation as fans may receive at this point. Because the developers have not refuted any of the discoveries made by AccessTheAnimus in their video, it appears as though fans may expect to see a DLC expansion take players to Muspelheim sometime inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’s future.
