A fan artist did a recreation of Jeremy Renner’sHawkeyein which they gave the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) character a more comic-accurate look. The photo is reminiscent ofHawkeye’s purple masked look from the books instead of the darker battle-worn outfits from the movies.

Marvel Studios is known for doing their best at bringing characters' costumes from the comics while also keeping in mind to make it practical. Captain America and Scarlet Witch are two great examples of this, as Captain America wears a helmet instead of a spandex-looking mask andScarlet Witch has a battle-ready trench coatinstead of a two-piece bikini suit like in the comics. They try to keep in mind the color scheme while also pointing out that the characters need to wear something they can fight in, and this fan artist kept that in mind with their recentHawkeyefan art.

With that being said,Hawkeye’s purple-clad “party city” outfit from the comics would look ridiculous in theAvengersfilm, even thoughCaptain America adopted a more classic comic outfitin that same movie. For Hawkeye, they went with a more practical approach but kept the purple color scheme, only they made it darker as the films progressed and the character adopted his Ronin persona. While his outfit may not look like the classic comic suit, the movie adaptation is a rendition of his costume from the “ultimate” Marvel comic books.

Still, this artist’s rendition looks incredible and would fit well in the MCU. It’s a shame Marvel Studios never gave the classic Hawkeye costume a solid chance, but fans will hopefully get to see the iconic purple outfit or something similar inDisney Plus’Hawkeyeseries.

If you go check out the artist’s page, you would see renditions of many famous pop culture characters such as Doctor Octopus, Batman, Shang-Chi, Spider-Man, and Green Goblin, to name a few. The artwork looks incredible and there are also more obscure characters who make this artist stand out.

In the meantime, fans have some catching up to do as they wait for the upcomingHawkeyeseries, which is set to introduce another additionto the ever-growing Young Avengersroster in the character of Kate Bishop. She herself is an archer on another level like Hawkeye and will be bringing in a new side to the MCU. The series has a Christmas theme and will be releasing around that time as well.
