Raven Software’sCall of Duty: Warzonehas been plagued by bugs since it launched in March 2020, and it seems that new ones crop up almost as quickly as old ones get fixed. In a recent Activision-hosted call with the media and content creators,Call of Duty: Warzonedevelopers acknowledged that they messed upwith the Pacific map and also admitted that the current state of the game in general is embarrassing.

It seems that every week, players have to deal with a new issue that hampers their gameplay experience. SomeCall of Duty: Warzoneglitches like the disappearing head bugare temporarily amusing; others can be truly frustrating and impede players’ ability to enjoy the game. In the developer call, it was explained thatWarzonewas originally developed to be a simple addition toModern Warfare. However, the game became increasingly bloated as it was incorporated intoVanguardandBlack Ops: Cold War, making it difficult to pinpoint and fix bugs.

Another glitch has now cropped up inCall of Duty:Warzone, giving players one more thing to add to the ever-growing list of issues the game has been plagued with since it launched two years ago. People can unlock weapon camos by completing different challenges, such as getting 125 headshot kills or downing 110 opponents without using any attachments. Now players are reporting that someModern Warfarecamos will not load into the game, making them unable to use their hard-earned swag. Even if the camo is selected via weapon customization, the weapon will display its default skin upon loading, and this problem seems to happen on any platform. Luckily, Raven Software is aware of the issue and has added it to the catalog of problems that need to be patched.

In addition to admitting that they are not happy with the current state ofWarzone, the developers are attempting to make it up to the community. This weekend, bothCall of Duty: WarzoneandVanguardhosted double XP eventsto thank players for their patience. The event kicked off on February 18 and will run through Tuesday, February 22, at 10 a.m. PT.WarzoneandVanguardplayers who log in during the XP weekend will also receive a free bundle of nine items that includes a Legendary Operator skin, two Legendary Weapon Blueprints, and more.

For some people, Activision and Raven Software admitting that all is not rosy withWarzoneis enough to prolong their patience with the bug-ridden game. For others, however, it’s not enough to hand out free items or acknowledge the problem because, despite that, there are still constantly new issues. Recently, PC players have found themselves facing off against opponents without recoil on their weapons, and another bug that popped up just yesterday leavesWarzoneplayers who win the gulag floating in the sky.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
