Albedo is a Geo character inGenshin Impact, and he’s also one of the most mysterious. It’s known that he’s connected to the alchemist Rhinedottir, who had something to do with the Cataclysm. Additionally, Albedo is a synthetic creation made from a piece of chalk by that alchemist.

Whether or not he’s set to play an even larger role in the game’s story is unknown, but for now, Albedo is a playable character that can make a great addition to a player’s team. To level him up, ascend him, and upgrade his talents, he’ll require the following items and Mora.

Albedo Ascension Items

He’s made of chalk, and he fittingly holds a Geo Vision. That means Albedo needs some Prithiva Topaz for his ascension — the elemental stone for all Geo characters. Here’s everything needed to ascend Albedo at each level, as well as the totals:

Gemstones - Where to Find Prithiva Topaz

Like any other elemental gemstone, Prithiva Topaz can be purchased from Liyue’s and Mondstadt’s souvenir shops or earned by completing all four daily commissions for the Adventurers' Guild. However, much of it will come from defeating the bosses that can drop it, which include the following:

Enemy Drop - Where to Find Samachurl Scrolls

Samachurls are those shaman-like monsters often seen alongside standard Hilichurls. They are capable of dropping these Scrolls when defeated, which they seemingly use to channel their powers.

Boss Drop - How to Get Basalt Pillars

The unique boss drop that Albedo uses is the Basalt Pillar. He’ll need quite a few of them, meaning players who want to level him up will need to take on the Geo Hypostasis quite a few times. Defeating this boss is the only way to get Basalt Pillars.

The Geo Hypostasis can be found on an island west of the teleport waypoint on the Guyun Stone Forest in Liyue.

Local Specialty - Where to Find Cecilias

These nice white flowers that Albedo uses to ascend are a specialty of the Mondstadt region that he calls his current home. He and Venti are currently the only characters that use them.

Cecilias can be found growing naturally in only one place: Starsnatch Cliff.

However, they can also be grown in a Serenitea Pot or purchased from Flora. She stocks five at a time, selling them for 1,000 Mora each. She’ll restock them every three days.

Talent Books - Ballad

The talent books that Albedo uses are those of the Ballad series. These can typically be found by clearing the Forsaken Rift domain on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Trounce Materials

As for his trounce material, Albedo will require another trip down to Liyue. He uses the Tusk of Monoceros Caeli, which is a drop from Childe/Tartaglia’s trounce fight.
