Over on the officialModern Warfare 2subReddit, a user named tiktokalnuke posted a video showcasing what players can do with aircraft like helicopters. During aGround War match in theModern Warfare 2beta, the player takes a helicopter towards an enemy aircraft in what appears to be an attempt for allies on board to simply pick off players who are using it as a rally point. After circling around the enemy helicopter, the pair seemingly sync up to fly side by side until the rotors get caught up with each other.
As the blades connect, both helicopters begin to go vertical with hit markers starting to appear. Before long, the enemy helicopter explodes in a blaze with the remaining helicopter simply flying as is nothing weird had just happened. Comments on theModern Warfare 2video have been extremely positive, with many pointing out the UAV flying by at the end and some wondering if it is even possible to land on one. Tiktokalnuke mentioned that they had used the transport helicopter to ram UAVs out of the sky, seemingly confirming how versatile and destructive these aircraft can be.
While the beta was certainly seen as a success by all metrics, it wasn’t always smooth sailing, a fact that developer Infinity Ward not only confirmed but attempted to fix through various updates. A new blog post revealed all of thechanges and fixes Infinity Ward is making toModern Warfare 2including improvements to visibility and audio, continued bug fixes, as well as a resolution to the frustrating disbanding lobbies issue.
