Summary
Overwatch 2has amassed an impressive collection of cosmetics for its roster of heroes. However, withSeason 7 ofOverwatch 2on the horizon, there has been speculation as to who will be receiving the mythic skin. With 38 playable characters in the game, there are a lot of options to pick from.
Overwatch 2has seen some criticism for the amount of skins that are available for certain heroes. Specifically, the Support hero Kiriko has one mythic skin, seven legendary skins, and three epic skins (without considering Overwatch League or Contenders content). This means that each season she has been given at least two skins. While this is great for fans of Kiriko, there are other heroes that should be first in line for skins in Season 7.

Bastion
The damage-dealing robot has a fair amount of legendary skins to its name, but nearly all of them are from events in the firstOverwatch. The most recent legendary is the Fire Engine skin which isn’t part of the Season 6 battle pass. Since it’s expected that the nextOverwatch 2mythic skinwill go to a DPS or tank, Bastion is more than deserving of something intricate, especially since it has been around since 2016.
Winston
If the next mythic skin goes to a tank hero, Winston would be a great pick. After all, the super-intelligent gorilla is well-loved by the player base for his big heart and fun voice lines. Unfortunately, he’s only received two legendary skins in the battle pass since the launch ofOverwatch 2. Perhaps Blizzard could make up for this by giving him the next highly coveted mythic.
Junkrat
Junkrat has gotten more attention than Winston inOverwatch 2, but his skins have been highly controversial. While there seems to be love for Beachrat, Junkenstein, and King Jamison, all of these cosmetics are from the firstOverwatch. One of his exclusive battle pass skins, Hong Hai Er, has been labeled as ugly by various players, whilethe legendary Junkbot skinwas only available in the shop. The explosive DPS is certainly worthy of a mythic skin for his troubles.
Ashe
Though Ashe did receive a free legendary, Snake Wrangler, in the Season 6 battle pass track, there have been criticisms from the player base that most of her skins don’t live up to their expectations. Typically, players show favoritism towards Poolside, Little Red, and Warlock but other than these the DPS doesn’t seem to have many good options. On top of this,Ashe’s Rajin skin had a major design issuein Season 2 which caused some in the community to call it a “pay to lose” skin. Still, Ashe’s lack of “great” skins makes her a perfect contender for a new legendary or mythic skin.
Torbjorn
Torbjorn’s stocky build may be one of the reasons that Blizzard has trouble crafting unique skins for him, though this hasn’t ever been stated. The turret-wielding hero has seen some additions since Season 1, but none except theSurf ‘n’ Splash Summer Games skinreally garnered any attention. It doesn’t seem Torbjorn has any truly outstanding skins to his name, which is easily fixable if the developers choose him for a high-tier legendary skin or the next mythic.
It’s worth mentioning that while there are no Support heroes included in this list, Lucio or Brigitte would be a great option for a legendary skin in Season 7. However, since a Support character recently got the mythic skin, it would make more sense if Blizzard selected a different category in October. Which heroes will be seeing new skins in the coming weeks is still to be determined.
Overwatch 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
